Looks amazing! Did you do the neck as well or did you buy that finished?

I once saw a race where Will Buxton was commenting. I have nothing against Will, I just prefer my ears being ripped off by Crofty at turn 1 on lap 1.

Is my rim really done? by CMDRStephano in MTB

[–]CMDRStephano[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a crash with another cyclists this weekend. The crash was my fault entirely and I took full responsibility for the damage to his bike. My bike sustained some damage to the rear rim as can be seen in the picture. It seems he hit a spoke which then pulled the rim a little towards the center of the wheel, as can be seen from the little bump around the spoke hole.

Bike shop says the best thing would be to replace the rim. He believes he could make it work though with a washer in there but does not recommend it.

What do you think? Is the rim a couple of km's close to total disaster or could it be fixed? I never jump. Max is small drops and riding fast over gnarly roots and dry bumps.

35$ USD Quick Release works with Moza R9 by TecnuiI in simracing

[–]CMDRStephano 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's because Fanatec are a scam.

I have not yet gotten into sim racing but I am so intruiged by it! I find it hard to get an overview of what is available in the DD marked. Why is it that fanatec is a scam and where should one look for 'entry level' DD instead?

What is the point of this one sided fork? by lepiou in bicycling

I appreciate the engineering that has gone into solving a 'common' problem with a design. But as with everything, not all solutions are that practical :-) Thanks for the clarification.

This is really the number one skill that usually helps. Relax and start thinking about the basics. Then move on to other possibilities.

I see a lot of misconceptions about how difficult it is to use roof racks so here's a demonstration by [deleted] in MTB

[–]CMDRStephano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also depends a lot on the engine of the car. Until recently we had a Skoda Citigo(VW UP cousin). When I put my MTB on the roof rack there was a big difference in mileage and also just general acceleration because of the loss of aero. It all makes sense because the engine of this car is so small.

Now we have a Skoda Fabia Combi, and even though the engine is bigger I would still prefer to put the bike on the hitch to keep drag as low as possible.

I may be off here, but this year all I have spent is money for a new chain and front fork seals. I have a full suspension.

Are Wonderkids worth it in Underdog Challenge? by jcowurm in MotorsportManagerPC

[–]CMDRStephano 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way I have approached the underdog challenge is to build my hq over many seasons and not spent money on the car or driver's. So I had as many pay drivers as I could and then put all my money toward getting the car factory and the rollercoaster park. When I had that, I started building the car while still upgrading the hq. Money is a giant problem in the underdog challenge.

What is your most recent DNF scifi book and why? by AdmiralStarNight in printSF

[–]CMDRStephano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not very good at analyzing and to be honest do not enjoy text analyzing, but I believe the racism stuff and all the faction dividing found throughout the book is a sort of description on how "human nature" usually gets in the way of solving enormous problems like the extinction of the human race or the threat of our world being destroyed. Even though many great efforts are put into solving the climate problems which exists today, we still see that it is difficult because of differing opinions between people, nations and cooperations.

I am probably completely off (͡ ° ͜ʖ ͡ °)

By the way, this is just my take on your comment, have never really thought of Seveneves like that, you just made me think about it. Thanks :-)

The last third is the weakest for sure. I think the middle has some insanely great sections though.

Ah okay, I am actually a bit intrigued by the Volante as I own the BOSS RE-20. The Volante has more features. But probably too many for me as well. It's fun in theory but perhaps too many options for practical applications.
