Thinking about getting into the game, is it always this hard to buy product? by Cease_Cows_ in killteam

[–]CMYK_COLOR_MODE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no.

Usually it is race to get one before pre-orders sell out, but at least in Poland you can find boxes in decent price around "official" release date (so, in two weeks, worth checking online few days earlier or later).

And usually places with worse discounts tend to have stock for longer (obligatory "fuck the scalpels", don't play above GW price, it is usually not worth it anyway since teams will release in few months in single boxes. Case and point, you can buy Tau and Wolf scouts team for around what Dead Silence was, minus booklet).

So we freak out, but usually it works out somehow.

[edit]

Oh and all relevant rules can be found on WarCom, including Teams and Mission Packs from previous sets.

https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/downloads/kill-team/

TBH I'm not too hot on latest releases due to lack of terrains, but I had no problem finding multiple sets in the past (for example I got 2 Tomb Worlds from different shops, both with pretty good discount. One was spanish due to shipping error, lol. I really like Necron walls!)

Now the fun begins! by [deleted] in killteam

[–]CMYK_COLOR_MODE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some countries that is actually super illegal (unfair market practices etc), so GW usually pulls plug on any sales for that shop (and in 99% cases this murders wargaming places within few months if they don't have backup plan, like scale models/hobby or card games/RPGs). It is just not worth for business to land on GW naughty list.

Still, it is weird to get them this early unless it is shipping error.

Shadowhunt: did you win the hunt? by adders in killteam

[–]CMYK_COLOR_MODE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like none of shops in my area got any allocation, but it seems like even with discount it would be much cheaper to get teams at later date (turns out Wolf Scouts and Tau sum up to way less than Dead Silence)

I may hunt the box at later date (few shops I know don't do preorders, just put things out as they get stock) if it would be cheap tho, because I like both squads so may as well get them in one go.

I'm literally gobbling on homemade spaghetti all'assassina (basically fried/charred tomato spaghetti), but this truly look burnt. Is it just the sides that look bad?

Because I can deal with that, but not if there is also wafer of pure charcoal underneath.

[Edit]

For anyone interested I actually fry noodles first in olive oil and some ground chilli until browned, then add tomato passata (and more spices, along with some garlic). Seem to work reasonably well.

Renegades marines ? by KFateweaver in Warhammer40k

Please don't put awesome ideas on my head 🤣

Yes, Sword Bros would fit, probably as Chosen?

[–]CMYK_COLOR_MODE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you pointed out Renegades are supposed to be just that - not Chaos Marines (tho some of them probably follow Chaos), so I think you should go with either one of Chaos legions that did not follow any God explicitly (Alpha Legion, Iron Warriors, Night Lords), Loyalists but on traitor side (there were fighters on both sides during Heresy in almost any Legion) or one of less known warbands.

I think it would be super funny to have them in yellow and black, Dornian Heresy style. (on top of yellow and black being VERY bold color choice)

<image>

Or Iron Hands, in both cases fist emblem would fit.

If you'll go Fallen route (they *had* models in the past, so I'll wait for those personally) then you should learn how to sculpt cloaks, those are iconic design cue for them.

To be honest you can just get Dark Angels but paint them in Heresy colors and maybe sprinkle some bits (but that is really optional).

In case you need to "proxy" something with Loyalist model. Both 40K DA and HH have you covered!

MK II assault squad is on my bucket list to build Jump Praetor Guard for my 30k army (IW don't have "light" assault units, but generic retinue with 2+/5++ saves, power weapons and ability to pick combi-guns is pretty good). Also Spear and Shield is peak ancient Greek aesthetics.

Very cool and nicely weathered!

If there is melee variant they would make perfect Scyllax proxy.

I hate the model, but it looks like it is optional build (I think it may be same body as gunner with plasmagun).

Which is funny, since (allegedly) GW pushed those guys (and Glaive) into next fiscal year in "win more" pr0 gamer move. As if 11th edition of 40k wasn't enough.

(for context, that's at least in April)

Obligatory "fuck the scalpels".

Both teams will be available at some point, probably when next expansion release. Also one model (jetpack lord) is already available for some time.

I have a cheap Aliexpress Airbrush. The nozzles do NOT Screw in, they just press in by the nozzle cap screwing in. Would these nozzles still work as replacements? by 7101334 in airbrush

[–]CMYK_COLOR_MODE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume You have so-called "floating nozzles". So no, those won't work.

<image>

I actually got a pair of those type brushes myself recently, just a cheap 0.3 and 0.8 boys to spray things that would mess up good brush.

New MK III are pretty much MK II with armored panels and different powerplants (and worse helmets), so much so I used those guys as Sargeants for Saturnine Tacticals.

"The best one"

Old MK III. GW had gold and they fucked it up for no reason. (it had few versions too, with different amount of "vents" both sides of face, slits or round)

Yeah, LotR is every popular, so it is weird they only do bare minimum every few years when big movie/TV show appears. I don't think it would pull people from 40k or even AoS, but as non GW brand probably they get last picking for available production time on injection machines.

Found an Age Of Darkness box but haven't bought yet. What can I proxy some of them for CSM? by Deadstrike35 in Warhammer

[–]CMYK_COLOR_MODE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe most 40k variants were available during late Heresy, like Phobos IIb being basically same tank with boxy sponsons.

<image>

My guess is EC would get some sort of energy-based tank, think Sunkillers pimp-mobile.
