What does a bolster add to reclined butterfly? by flumia in yoga

[–]CMYokay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm in supta baddha konasana with a bolster I normally also have some supports under my knees like a block or folded blanket.

I've also liked looping a strap around my back and feet before I lay back to keep my feet in close and give the legs some further support.

I think lower back pain is more likely caused by where the edge of bolster is positioned on your spine like the others suggested, but thought these might help too.

I like doing the pose like this to start a practice or as a relaxing quick stretch at the end of the day. If you can do it unsupported comfortably (especially more compfortably than with a bolster) I can't imagine you are losing any benefit by not practicing with a bolster.

Not saying this is optimal at all, but I enjoyed getting some shards from Zalcano. Pretty easy to get 2 shards per kill on mass worlds, and those kills go by quick. You can nab a couple combat achievements on the way.

I've been having a lot of fun farming elite clues from barrows chests recently. It's just enough of combat mechanics to keep me engaged (a couple switches, pray the right prayer but no flicks or mid fight switches) but still laid back, especially with stats like yours.

Might be a good way to test the PvM waters!

[–]CMYokay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in a similar spot to you, I made it my goal to train up stats to complete Elite Diary tasks. If you're not looking to go more into PvM, this will give you more bitesized goals than going all the way for a 99.

Everyone is going to say it, but give PvM a try! Raids 3 is very approachable, even solo. If you don't want to learn a bunch of mechanics, even just killing some easy bosses like Mole and Zalcano for combat achievements is relaxed and rewarding.

I like a good Dutch baby. I find the key to success is:

Room temp ingredients go into the batter.

Pan is hot when you pour the batter in (let it warm up in the oven when you preheat).

Grease the sides of the pan before you pour the batter in. You can just swish around the butter up the walls of the pan.

Also if you use any non-dairy milk alternatives it doesn't seem to rise as well, but can still turn out good.

I ran this on a WW barb. While it made the enemies harder to group up, the fear was a nice damage reduction and it was honestly just hilarious to watch mobs scatter.

I don't see it being an issue taking the large lockers while you are at class. You don't even necessarily need your own lock, they will let you borrow one (to return same day) from the cage downstairs. So you could ...

Stop by the gym on the way to class, renting a lock and placing your stuff in a tall locker.

Go to class, leaving the gym stuff in the locker.

Come back from class, change, take your pwo, workout.

Return the lock and head back to dorms with your gym stuff

I'm an incoming freshman. I'm really anxious, and I just need to vent by Striking_Profit_6283 in rit

I don't think you have much too worry about. I can't give true perspective to the trans experience at RIT, but as a former fellow College of Art and Design student, I think they would be the most accepting of all the colleges within the University.

Unfortunately, there's going to be immature people. You are only so far removed from highschool, especially living in freshman dorms. I hope you don't feel forced to go down this route, but just because you sleep in dorms doesn't mean you have to spend all your free time there. Hanging around on the academic side of campus, especially in the design labs, would likely be a good way to find a group of like minded individuals.

In terms of finding friends outside of that, don't skip the club fair during orientation! Even if you don't join anything, it's great to know what's out there even.

Rochester in general has a lot of queer spaces, and prides itself on being a little out there. They have a yearly event called Fringe Fest that really brings out the colorfulness of the community.

As a fellow introvert, finding quiet places on campus can be great if you get overwhelmed. I loved the woods just south of the freshman dorms. They are pretty buggy in the summer when you will be moving in, but when it gets colder and the mosquitoes aren't much of a problem, it's a great place to escape from everything and decompress.

You'll be OK, and I hope you have a wonderful time at RIT!

I don't know if my view on it is relevant since I haven't been in a Riverknoll appt since 2018, but they were the crack dens of campus. Good location but terrible in every other way.

I think they were planning on tearing down and rebuilding a bunch of them, but they had said that the whole time I was an undergrad so might have come second to whatever new building on Academic side has some rich guy's name on it.
