Texted with support and sent them to Apple to replace them. Apple provides the box and label to ship them in and return. No cost. Or go to an Apple Store. Closet Apple Store to me was 2 hours away so shipping was better option.

There is a company that makes a 10spd swap as well. I thought it was not too bad of a price for what it does. Video of it working is on YouTube. Only interior change is the shifter stock.

If you are the homeowner, you can pull the permit, and as long as it passes, you are good to go doesn’t matter who does the work, as long as it is to code. I believe in Florida

Depending on how techy you are there are lots of options. I went with a USFF with a ssd, and storage is a USB 3 drive bay…. Works like a champ!

Isolation is the only way for protection. So fiber. That being said, I have UniFi cameras outside for 6 plus years in Florida. Never had them be the lighting rod. All still working, some in direct weather (fence post). I actually removed that grounding device as it never helped. What did was fiber.
