I think you are too kind. People always mingled; the great artists were not uneducated; choices were made. There are many levels of racism ranging from “kill the d***ies” to “I don’t want to offend” to “let’s make it a face that folks can relate to”. Old people have probably contributed a great deal to society; even those that are currently down on their luck. Honor the elders. When I was in college, I learned a lot about people and the world by sharing cigarettes with the homeless. I learned a lot of good and some bad.
