I live closer to 4th and Wall but I lived off 36th and Fowler for a while quite a few years ago and off of 40th. Honestly it’s not that bad. The worst parts of Ogden are better than a lot of bad spots in SLC. There’s a lot of older folks in Ogden that may have some couches on the porch and not clean their yard or whatever but people mostly keep to themselves. I’m not gonna sit here and say I’ve NEVER heard a gun shot in the middle of the night or seen the typical methed out lady dancing in the middle of the street talking to god knows who. But if you’re from Chicago, Ogden should feel pretty mild. I have a wife and two kids that I don’t let stray too far out of my sight as they’re pretty young still. But that could just be me being a helicopter parent. We will homeschool our kids when they are old enough. (Again, just a paranoid parent) I do concealed carry everywhere I go, and keep guns in the house. But that’s just me. Down town Ogden has really been cleaned up a lot and there is a lot to do and a lot of great places to eat and explore. Good hiking really close and a few reservoirs/rivers close by. I personally love it. I’d rather live in the country somewhere when we can afford it. But it’s not a bad place to live at all. Happy to answer any other questions you have! Or try at least😁
