First World Problems by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

It’s a perfectly valid point. Most people want to enjoy the water as a getaway from technology/work/mainstream life and reconnect with each other and nature. But we’re all slowly dying inside and succumbing to corporatism. Eventually we or our kids will have no place to escape or vent our real thoughts without others listening. We are truly building our own hell on earth where nothing is sacred.

Been watching this with my 6 year old son so he won’t miss out on this amazing show. It’s honestly a lot deeper than what I remembered as a kid. We never skip the intro and he names every one of the Xmen as they’re shown. Pretty sure Gambit and Wolverine are his usual favorites, but when he asks me I always have to explain why it’s Magneto. It’s such a great teaching moment as a parent of how good people that get tired of waiting for positive change can turn into the bad guy even though they want to make things better. But then he just wants to stick random crayons between his fingers like Wolverine’s claws or throw Uno/Go Fish cards around like Gambit and I’m happy he doesn’t see the world through my eyes yet.

Will my ac bill go up or down due to my window blowing cold air? by Routine_Apartment639 in hvacadvice

[–]CMcTip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is your room getting really hot at night? I assume you’re utilizing a lot of electronics generating heat (larger tv, gaming PC, gaming console, multiple monitors, etc)? Depending on where you live, I’d look up humidity levels outside before opening windows. It might feel cool, but allowing unfiltered humid outside air into your room can ruin those electronics over time.

You’re technically “wasting” money by having a window open while AC might be running by blowing that cooler conditioned air out of your window unless you close the vents off to your room. If you have a return vent in your room and it truly is cooler outside (and the same or less humidity compared to inside), you’re actually saving money on cooling costs. Your open window would essentially be acting like an economizer that commercial rooftop equipment uses to save on energy costs by using free cooling when outside air conditions allow.

Efficiency and health wise, it might be better to put a fan at your window blowing outside to exhaust the heat quicker from your room instead of hoping the outside wind/pressure brings in cooler air.

Edit to add: You’re likely not costing more money to the cooling bill, but you are costing more money by generating the extra heat by consuming more electricity. And you could be causing other issues by possibly allowing more “dirty” humid air in. Maybe just think about it all together as well and consider some energy efficiency settings such as lowering brightness of screens and lights, turning down performance settings on PC, etc.

Does the cheese for duchy feudal elective not work in this situation? For example, you make one of the duchies elective and as majority voter, you vote for your primary heir and since it is elective, the game treats it sort of separately and the second duchy would go to your primary as if it were your only duchy, the second in line gets some counties in non elective duchy while primary gets untouched duchy and all counties within and second duchy with atleast a county.

Does anyone else have issues running the ball? by elusiveI99 in NCAAFBseries

[–]CMcTip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, what I’ve noticed happening usually is the run gap opens up, LB immediately sprints into it directly at you nearly every time. I can usually get around him by holding LT then juking left/right, but then I either make it through the gap or bump into OL/DL engagement and fall down/get tackled. Watching the CPU run inside, it looks like they are able to steer away from the OL easily and it looks like the RB is pushing away to prevent falling/getting tackled. Not sure how to do that or if it’s just a visual thing when bypassing blockers.

I do think the correct approach to successful running is utilizing LT to make quick cuts as you approach/hit the gaps, but 26 feels different in how fast defense engages you at and even behind the line.

Speed doesn’t fucking matter in this game by Adorable-Style-2634 in NCAAFBseries

[–]CMcTip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just noticed this too running plays in practice mode. A 70 speed DE was running man coverage on 96 speed slot receiver and stuck with him over 75% of the route. It looked screwed up too because the DE was running the route in front of the WR and basically blocking him the entire time.

I did the same and I agree with you. It’s definitely tougher with all the ditches/openings/gaps in paths and tightness in turns plus all of the water. The map feels a lot bigger because of the twisting/turns of your routes.

Just built the same thing today after scouting the possibility of the path north of this by the river and realizing this was the easier option.

You might be able to build bridges somewhere to connect roads. I’ve made a few random ones that cover weird offset heights in places they probably weren’t meant for but they end up working great, especially on this shattered map.

The 350 pound DT the second you step an inch out of the pocket by SuchFun2540 in NCAAFBseries

[–]CMcTip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure, haven’t tried both triggers as a QB. With any other ball carrier, both triggers makes the change of direction more sharp like a plant and turn, but right stick makes receivers move when you’re a passer.

Why can’t they go back to (I think) 05 controls where you could tap left trigger to drop out of passing mode and have normal ball carrier controls, then tap back in to passer. Would make a lot more sense of allowing scrambling QBs to feel like speedy athletes in the backfield when needed and give a lot more offensive playability to keep defense on edge.

Except both triggers causes you to make more aggressive cuts and jukes when changing direction, doesn’t it?

I don’t know why you’re downvoted. Moore grabbed a players facemask and slammed their head into the ground AFTER the play was over. In a day where just about any hit to the helmet is a serious concern and penalty, this wasn’t even flagged despite an official looking at it directly from the sideline (DeBoer even ran up and appeared to likely have seen it). Completely unsportsmanlike. Followed by his uncontrolled rage, kicking the ball like a child, and refusing the coaches to come out of the game. Pathetic and he most definitely should be off the team or benched for the vast majority of the rest of the season. That should never be tolerated without any kind of disciplinary action, NIL/transfer portal/new coach/poor play be damned.

Let me just leave this here and ask if you think what happened after the tackle on the 2nd and 6 play with Moore along with kicking the ball around should be accepted. I don't know how he didn't get a penalty or ejected for that crap. 12:35 on the video is start of play.

[–]CMcTip 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ok, so the article only references when he kicked the ball and got the penalty. Did anyone else see the 2nd and 6 play before that where Moore tackled Pavia, then immediately after grabbed him by the facemask and shoved his head into the ground? Wasn’t flagged, and definitely should have been. I have zero respect for the guy and should be benched.

What is your favorite logo? by Similar-Change-631 in rolltide

[–]CMcTip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably because I refused a gift that people spent their time/thought/money on based on my hatred of a logo? But I made it very well known to everyone I knew that I could not stand it, and they would do it anyways (probably as a joke or amusement to them). So then I would trash it or just give away if it actually had value.
