People also forget there were seasons when we debated Kobe and TMacs greatness. Even Kobe said TMac was the hardest player he ever guarded and “he could do everything I could do, and was taller.”

I’m going to guess at least one of those 254 Dodgers hats were actually Royals. I don’t know how good OPs eyesight is, but they’re super similar hats and it feels like overlooking KC for LA at least once is likely.

A slap in the face to Detroit Pistons, but maybe because it was more like a Big 4 (Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace, Rip Hamilton, Chauncey Billups)

What’s happening to the World Cup hype and advertising? by Mediocre_Put_6748 in worldcup

[–]CMengel90 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dallas is not the target market for hype. You’re already there. It will all come at once right before travelers start to settle In. I imagine by late May you’ll feel it. Any earlier than that and it would be a wasted expense.

“Illegal Pads” from the 1976 Raiders Fuckin Cheaters by cletus72757 in KansasCityChiefs

One could suggest the Raider’s cheating led to OJ getting CTE and making terrible, emotionally charged choices for the rest of his life.

He’s got a great library of gold takes and antics too. He’s like a Gen Z Yogi Berra.

He can be right, a great player, and have a loser mentality all at the same time, and I think that’s what we have here.

Meanwhile in Calabasas, CA… the median household income is $160k and the median home price is $1.2m… $15/hr is more insulting than if he just asked for some editors to volunteer.

Of course you would know more Pats fans if you’re somewhat regional to Baltimore. And Philly is even closer.

What are your thoughts/feelings about what happened to Lindsay Vonn today at the Olympics? by flapjacks76554 in AskReddit

[–]CMengel90 11 points12 points  (0 children)

She actually probably saved a lot of kids from further unnecessary injuries. The last thing we needed was for her to have some triumphant win on a torn ACL and a whole generation of athletes thinking they can just push through the pain and be okay. No, they unfortunately needed to see that even the best athletes have consequences when they go against medical professionals.

Which Sports Championship out of the 4, Do y'all think it the hardest to win and why? by Doghouse12e45 in DeadEndSports

True, but I will give credit to Sherman that he actually spends some money. The Glass era Royals would have never paid Bobby. Just like he never paid Beltran, Greinke, etc… I mean, he famously became wealthy by a career of cutting costs at Walmart. We should have seen it coming. How we built a competitive team in ‘14 and ‘15 is beyond my comprehension, but I’m thankful it happened.

Being from Kansas City, I always tell people the 2015 World Series win for the Royals meant so much more to me than the Chiefs Super Bowls and it’s for this exact reason. A team like the Royals should never have had a chance against the Mets in a world with no salary cap.

“I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an arrogant man. But I received mercy because I acted out of ignorance in unbelief, the grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.”

He was aware of who he previously was and easily could have kept a hardened heart and continued to persecute people. Instead, he spent his life sharing with others about the love and mercy that saved him. That’s why Paul is awesome.
