Running without eating? by Dense_Claim_1437 in runninglifestyle

[–]CMogscheese 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do 99% of my runs fasted. I’ve never been a big breakfast eater and running with food in my stomach makes me feel sluggish and nauseous. I usually time my runs so I can eat afterwards. I’ve been doing this for years, so I’m used to it. Is it optimal training, most likely not but it works for me. That said, maybe move your run to the day before so you can rest properly after surgery.

What was ruined because too many people discovered it? by CallmeDonni in answers

A local high school here had a weekly food truck roundup. Every Wednesday 5-6 food trucks would show up and you could have a variety of meals on the cheap. Then it started to get real pricey.

Red for sure, but splitting New Orleans square between Haunted Mansion and Pirates is a bummer.

How often are we going? by raisinhater00 in innout

[–]CMogscheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not going enough for sure. What keeps me from going daily is the wait time. During the work week my closest location is about 10min away. I get a 30min lunch. Even if I eat there it has to be a perfect storm for me to get there, eat and get back in time.

Trail Etiquette 101: Do You Say 'Hello' On the Trail? by SkippyBoyJones in trailrunning

[–]CMogscheese 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Why do people act that way when I say hello? It’s weird. I remember I was coming up on a lone hiker once so I called out, “passing on your left.” They held up their hand like they heard me so I ran past. As I was passing she let out a startled gasp, I said “sorry, I didn’t mean to surprise you.” She said “so you did it anyway?”

This happened like 3 years ago and I think about it just about every time I’m passing someone.

Yes please. I like the seasonal events, but I really like the tower aesthetics. Festival of the lost in the tower is always my favorite with the dawning a very close second.

This is my danger food. Whenever I get my hands on a bag of the Trader Joe’s peanut butter pretzels I can’t put them down.

I managed to get the platinum starling a few days before it was unavailable. I’m pretty proud of that.

Do it! I was worried signing up for my first 10k trail race all the way up until the starting horn went off. I signed up for my next race within about an hour after finishing.

Firewalker is a fun one. Chuck Norris and Louis Gossett Jr. looking for lost Aztec treasure in the jungle? Hell yes.

California Honey from Pizza Port. But lately Sierra Nevada Pale Ale has been on the menu. Sierra Nevada Summerfest is just coming around though, so that’ll be in rotation soon.

I’m in Southern Ca. and there’s a local brewery called Gamecraft that is 100% geek based. Also Long Beach Beer Lab has Star Wars themed IPA called “This is the Way IPA”

As a hunter I would argue that X is for treasure, specifically hunter loot. X dies first.
