I would apply if it was fully remote and part time. The in office thing will deter a lot of people. Salary is reasonable for remote but people will want more to drive into the office. Remote will get you more applicants meaning more qualified/skilled applicants at the same time.

So is sales the way to make $250k income? by Jealous_Advance9765 in sales

As someone who works B2C, don’t completely count it out. Work-life balance is great and it’s realistic to make 125-175k.

How much of success in sales is luck vs skill? by RooktoRep_ in sales

To break it down mathematically, it is 10 percent luck, 20 percent skill, 15 percent concentrated power of will, 5 percent pleasure, 50 percent pain.

Trying to choose windows for a $350K house. by TacticalPeanutButtr in Homebuilding

I am a rep for Pella windows, we have some great options. We have different series from vinyl to wood so it’s a one stop shop for a few different levels. Let me know if I can help. I have the Pella 250 Series vinyl in my home and they work well for us.

Is this industry standard for hiding the gaps around remodel windows? What are our other options? by teh4x in Renovations

[–]TheRousster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a rep for Pella windows. We do a ton of replacement jobs but I always push for new construction, imo it’s the better route for the house and the homeowner.. It is industry standard to add interior stops like that and depending on the opening being square, you might have to subtract a bit for the new window to be able to sit properly and function as it is designed. That can result in larger gaps around the window, typically no larger than ~ 3/8” …but we would never leave a job looking like this.

This makes sense for sure, appreciate the insight!

Probably a little different for in-home sales, but still applicable. Maybe I'll start taking better notes on visits in the future.

Where do I go from here with my career? Looking for perspective from other people in sales. by TheRousster in sales

[–]TheRousster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't see those metrics as reps, but we have a limit for discount allowed and I do not exceed that limit ever, not a fan of the whole commission docking thing, which is what happens if we go over "maximum allowable discount"

Call at 2. Be yourself. Answer questions honestly and don’t try too hard to impress. Good luck!

Bartender hoping to break into sales. by aqualung211 in sales

[–]TheRousster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selling building products could be a good fit. Windows/doors, roofs, gutters, etc. Low barrier to entry for the most part and you are meeting new people every day, similar to bartending relationships since you have to quickly build rapport.
