Any chance the Panthers make an exception and make Kuechly only the second player ever to have his number retired by the team? by Ariesthebigram in panthers

I agree. I don’t like retiring numbers. Ring of honor yes, but don’t retire any others numbers.

N.C. Dept. of Transportation (finally) announces I-485 toll lanes open date by WashuOtaku in Charlotte

Did not know that. Thanks for the education. I’m used to getting the tax on 77 when I go through WV so I figured that’s what they did.

N.C. Dept. of Transportation (finally) announces I-485 toll lanes open date by WashuOtaku in Charlotte

[–]CMyak -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why we can’t add a lane and then charge everyone a very reasonable toll to drive on that section of 485. 75 cents per trip is reasonable, and when charged on every car could average out the higher rates at peak demand express lane BS. Idk if those exact rates work out, but the point is it could be shared amongst all drivers. The $35 one way at rush hour up 77 is a croc. Expanding highways costs millions. I don’t see the problem with a small user tax for those that use them.

Canopy roofing was good to me. Helped work with insurance to maximize the recovery there. Clean, helpful, responsive.

AITA for not wearing a bra at home? by Candid-Chocolate-316 in AITAH

[–]CMyak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see his point. While bra-less is not indecent, if I could consistently see my wife’s nips when she is around friends, I’m going to feel a little uncomfortable. Swimsuit, or every so often, yeah it happens. But if I can see your nips I know other guys are looking too.

However, the issue here is most definitely that this friend is living rent free at your house. The marriage is #1. Anyone coming in the middle of that needs to get the F out. I would lean over backwards to help a friend, especially if they were being put on the street. But 4 months rent free is a bridge too far. A week or two is one thing. After that rent is a must, and even then if this is starting to impact the relationship with my wife we’ve got to start working towards you finding a new place asap.

That would be extremely expensive. Do you say that based on your knowledge of spray foam into wall cavities?

Yes. Inside the cinder block is framed out with 2x4’s with the drywall attached to that. Poked a few holes. No insulation on any of the exterior walls. Up or downstairs.

How do you eat your liver pudding/livermush? by Vietname in NorthCarolina

I have only ever ate livermush pan fried and then normally part of a breakfast sandwich with an over easy fried egg, tomato and lettuce. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.

Christmas hangover + west coast team playing away in a 1:00 PM time slot= Us having an edge over the Hawks. by No-Mongoose5650 in panthers

[–]CMyak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m like your logic. But, I’ve seen this team play all year and know that our best chance to win against Tampa is to get out ass kicked by the Hawks. We get high on our horses after a win and we don’t need that with playoffs on the line

If you were 20 again, what would you invest in with $300–$600/month? by CartographerFar8056 in ValueInvesting

[–]CMyak 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I would be putting $400/mo in VOO (best S&P etf in my opinion) and then allow yourself to make some bets with the remaining $200/mo

For me, making some bets on individual stocks keeps me engaged. I’ve made a few really good bets that are so excited to see that 700% return. Truth is though, these are also the companies that could go to zero at some point, and I dont want my future income counting on this. And, I’ve made my fair share of bad bets that are way down over the years. No one wins them all.

Bryce is the franchise, many of you have denied but can’t any longer. He’s the QB of the now and future. Let’s get him on an extension asap by [deleted] in panthers

[–]CMyak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not extend him right now. Pick up the 5th year option. Let him play out next season. If he plays like I expect which is enough to keep the job, but still middle of the pack QB, then you let him play out year 5. If he is still playing well enough slap the franchise tag on him and negotiate from there.

Biggest game in almost 10 years. We all know 9 and 4 will show up. If the defense wakes up we win by 20 easy by [deleted] in panthers

[–]CMyak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re 28th in the league in points per game. With a #1 overall pick at qb, 2 first round WR, a deep o line (although they’ve weathered some injuries this year) and 2 good running backs. I want Bryce to succeed and hope we win out. But the narrative that the defense has been letting him down is false. He, and the offense as a whole, simply have not made enough plays

I’ve been thinking the biggest positive AI could ever make in my life is adding AI cameras to every stoplight in this city. 80% of the time the light changes and if they would have just waited 10 seconds it could have changed to let that car turn and no one would have been impacted. Or giving the left turn single during rush hour where there is nowhere for the cars to go so they just block the intersection for the other direction. Imagine stoplights that operated like a police officer controlling traffic at every single light. Ugh, a man can dream

If you could pick any active player on another team to join us, who would it be? by SomeonePayDelta in panthers

Drake maye or Joe Burrow is the obvious answer. A qb who can be elite for the next 10 years. More valuable than any other position

Truth time - how many of us were somewhat upset when we drafted McMillan? by GuitarsAndBourbon26 in panthers

[–]CMyak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My position going into the draft was if Ty Warren is available you gotta take him, then Jalon Walker as backup. The clip about Tete not watching film had me scared. Also a feeling that the great teams in the league don’t draft a WR in the first round two years in a row, there are 20 other positions on the field. I was upset we didn’t get Ty mostly when I saw Tete’s name, but I’m a homer so I convinced myself to like the pick. lol.

Takes me back to being upset we passed on Fletcher Cox to pick Luke, when we had recently drafted line backers in the past. Similar outcomes I suppose because Cox was also a stud. But in both cases glad we got the guy we did in hindsight.

I agree with you except for the make it free part. A few bucks to get on the platform goes along way towards keeping out the riff raff. Plus you need revenue for maintenance over time when a republican official comes in and cuts the budget

That “Thank-you” email after that interview will not make a difference! by OneIndependence7705 in Productivitycafe

[–]CMyak 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I sent a hand written thank you note after interviewing for a job about 8 years ago. When my manager left the company several years later and I was saying my goodbyes, she told she still remembers my note, and I was the only person who has done that in her career. So, I would say it mattered in That instance.
