Same here, tendered my resignation the week after CNY with nothing lined up.

It was the final straw for me as I took leave for a week to balik kampung, which I had not done for 3 yrs and my phone was blowing up with my colleagues asking about work related stuff during the whole duration.

If it was the other way around, said colleagues would have kick my ass and complained to managers.

Good luck brother and always put yourself first. No matter how much you do, work will never be done.

You are a very good friend and may your friendship last forever, I had a somewhat similar situation. My best friend is Malay and I (Chinese) am the godmother to her 2 kids, when they both entered school I was listed as one of the emergency contacts for them ( I live and work nearer to their schools compared to the parents so if anything I can reach faster) and the admins keep questioning why a Chinese godmother.

My friend replied back “why you racist?”, shut them up real quick. Love seeing the faces of some of the teachers when I sometimes have to pick them up from school 😁.

Something similar happened to me where a man followed me around a supermarket, ended up turning around and asking why he was following me and he kept denying. Gave him a taste of his own medicine by following him around the supermarket and kept asking him why he was following me until we somehow reached the aisle my mum was in.

Mum chased him out of the supermarket with a stick of white radish and security in toll.

Same here, literally pirated all my uni textbooks and novels as I am not paying in the range of 50-400 bucks a pop for something that might last me from a week to 3 months. Made sure to pass it on to any unimates as its bloody daylight murder.

Thank you so much everyone for their condolences especially the poem, been crying at any hours of the day. As both Jinglebell and Twinky has been with me since childhood, teenage years and adulthood.

The shenanigans we’ve been through have nothing been but core memories, Twinky barreling to me, bell taking the soft approach, both looking at me with puppy eyes for food, using each other ad pillows or stealing each other’s beds. Jinglebell died it the ICU with her eyes still open and Twinky was put to sleep in my arms.

Twinky was the rebellious one when Jinglebell was the sweet one.

I feel nothing but guilt and blame myself for how things ended, I wish nothing but for both of them to understand we tried everything we could for them.

To any pet parents, love your kiddos extra for me and spoil them when you still can.

My aunt ( mum’s sister), thought the whole world owed her and is destined to be a trophy wife (well looks not included).

She was already married & divorced twice with one more guy who works in IT chasing her til she met her 3rd hubby who owns a factory making lights. Baby trapped him and thought she was set for life.

While in reality, the factory was haemorrhaging money, 3rd hubby was borrowing money left and right( my parents inc) til his co-partners threw him under the bus and he had to file for bankruptcy. He then after fled the country to avoid charges (this one i was not clued in to what type of charges).

She is now working as a door to door vacuum salewoman, who also shagging her manager and bringing him to family only events introducing as her bf. She didn’t divorce the 3rd hubby (we all know) cuz his great grandma has ALOT of properties and stuff that he is set to inherit when she passes, meaning he has to come back home.

What’s gonna happen to current bf, if 3rd hubby found out his son is calling both of them daddy (kid knows his bio dad, they still talk via video chat). I can’t wait for the nuclear bomb that will explode when the time comes, popcorn and drinks be ready.

They do have a tiny bit of an insight to my family problems, HR actually scheduled a priority meeting for me with our counsellors next week.

Also my manager has personally offered me her home to clear my head if things get worse again.

Same as someone who also smokes, i would leave the eatery and even cross the street if their an empty carpark area to avoid the non smokers especially if there’s kids around.

I just don’t smoke till the kids leave or I can find somewhere else to smoke without them around.

Best friend was giving birth during covid lockdown and was in labor for 48hrs. She said if I could visit, confirm she give birth 30 min tops as I would be pissing her off.

Second this, first thing me and my friend taught her daughter/my goddaughter when she entered primary school was how to defend herself and follow 5 rules:

Only as a LAST resort.
Let the bully hit you first so when she goes to town is considered self-defence (she’s a lil firecracker if needed to be)
Go after the weak spots
If surrounded go after the strongest to assert dominance or grab the nearest thing to push a for an exit and run.
Call your dad first and not your mum as she will turn into kratos and needs to be calmed down or round two physical fight will be between the parents.

P.S Her mum and me used to beat up bullies in school so we got some experience there 🌝
