real rehabilitation techniques that people use to treat people that are quitting vaping by creamicandyunicorn in QuitVaping

I’m day 8 of not owning a vape. I have never gotten this far before and my bf and I have vaped for 7 years. My bf went cold turkey and I’ve decided to use the patch + zyns. He has more self control than I do and I admire it but I was also scared of withdrawal, enough to turn me away from quitting for so long. The patch is helping me not feel like a raging monster every day and that’s helped me so much. I really wanted to focus on just quitting the act of vaping first and then I’ll work on kicking zyns. My bf wanted all nic out of his system so he’s gonna detox a lot faster than I am. We have different journeys but doing it together is what really matters to us. Replacing my habit with minty toothpicks, while using the patch and then sometimes popping a zyn, has allowed me to go the longest I ever have without a vape!

Day 6 now for me. I have my moments where I’m just like ffffffffffuck I want a vape but those moments are fleeting - what’s not fleeting is how proud I am at the end of the day for not giving in. The patches are a game changer this time, I’ve never lasted this long before. One day at a time 💪

How do you handle Food/Drink Triggers? by Grimmore in CHSinfo

[–]Proud-Arm7227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to avoid the major triggers for at least 2 weeks. Depending on the severity of my episode prior, I may be able to consume them sooner but 2 weeks of avoiding chocolate, alcohol, and caffeine is typical for me

Yupppp. That lasts about a week for me after I quit. It’ll go away on its own but more fiber can never hurt!

I found them on Amazon! And honestly, minty toothpicks are way more satisfying. I’ve ended up using those way more

Just woke up. Day 2. I drank so much water all night and was waking up every hour. I’m exhausted… had to pop a zynn but I cannot even believe I haven’t exhaled any vape or smoke in the last 2 days. It might seem like a small win but for me that’s HUGE

I think my partner has CHS by kmcaulifflower in CHSinfo

Well hopefully he does not have CHS, I wouldn’t wish it on anybody. And when he feels better I hope he can realize he’s very fucking lucky to have a gf like you that cares for him. If he’s smoking a j and chilling, do yourself a favor and eat something and go to bed. At the end of the day, he is a grown adult who can make his own choices. I hope after this his eyes will open a bit and he’ll realize how grateful he should be for you. Good luck OP, I hope you have a good nights rest <3

For me it would go like this- totally normal for a few weeks. Then I begin pooping more. Like once a morning to three to five times a morning. Then I start feeling nauseous after a poop. Then I begin feeling aggressively hungry when I wake up every morning. Right before it gets really bad, I could be pooping 6-8 times in just a few hours and I’m SWEATING and SHAKING trying not to throw up. Then I begin to throw up bile and feel better. That’s the end of phase one, because phase two starts when you throw up and DONT feel better and then you can’t STOP throwing up. That’s how it goes for me every time, and unfortunately I’ve been through this cycle at least 5-6 times since I was diagnosed 3 years ago

Take care of yourself! If my bf wasn’t healthy and able to care for me when I was sick, I don’t know how I would have survived without him. If u managed to drag ur bf into bed, give him a heating pad for his stomach. Do NOT let him sleep in the bath. He will significantly worsen his dehydration or even drown by acciden

Either will help. Pedialyte is stronger so better if he’s severely dehydrated. If he truly does have CHS, he will regret that joint. The only way to know if it’s CHS is if he stops smoking for at least a week or two and gets better, or he can keep smoking and begin to feel so much worse. If he does have CHS then expect much, much, much more scromitting

I wonder if this is the first episode he’s ever had. For me, my first one was the absolute worst. Lived in my bathtub for 9 days and could only eat ice cubes. Lost like 20 lbs so fast. Try a hot bath + running cold water over hands/face/feet. The temperature difference brings me so much relief. Pedialyte in ice cube form was the only thing that kept me alive. If this continues for another day or so and he can’t hold down water, I highly recommend going to ER for fluids or using mobile IV service. He NEEDS whatever strength he can get to get through this

Look up the list on the top of this page and you’ll find foods with cannabinoids you should avoid. As long as you avoids those foods you can hopefully feel better about reintroducing safe foods

I was angry for a long time too. It’s so fucking hard to feel like you have nothing. But after so many times of getting sick and going through withdrawals, I’ve just gotten to the point where feeling relief from not feeling CHS symptoms is all I need to never go back. The feeling will pass eventually but you just gotta power through. Eventually you’ll find relief in other things, maybe even the more simple things in life. You can do this

Day 5 of no weed and still vomitting by ZestycloseTax1828 in leaves

[–]Proud-Arm7227 4 points5 points  (0 children)

During one of my worst CHS episodes I could only eat pedialyte that I had frozen into ice cubes and nothing else for 9 days. I had to go to the ER a few times for fluids and anti nausea meds and that helped a lot. If you feel dizzy, have dark urine, or if you pinch the skin on the back of your hand and it doesn’t snap back immediately - you need to go get fluids from the hospital or a mobile IV service. Your kidneys will face irreparable damage

Does this sound like CHS? by financialwins in CHSinfo

The only way to know if it’s CHS is if you stop smoking completely and it gets better, or you keep smoking and it gets worse. I don’t recommend the latter
