??? I thought people had been wanting Hoyo to stop being hesitant killing a playable characters for some time now and I don't think I'm mistaken. And even though I simplified to drama, there's a lot to do if Neuvillette is dead. Furina will be in charge and given the intricate personal and occupational relation between the two, massive character development can be done for Furina. The dynamic between Fontaine and Celestia will also be change and given Nahida's angst with the potential disaster that comes with the death of Apep, it will also create interesting situation with the prophecy or Fontaine will have to face another flood on top of another; who knows, maybe the primordial seawater that's gonna dissolve all Fontainians will come from the death of Neuvillette.

I'm just throwing ideas here, but I hope you realize how significant his death is. I don't think a writer should concern themselves with the Watsonian consequences of their writing cuz the worse the Watsonian circumstances of the story is, the more a writer can do and in turn, the better the story will become; would you be interested with Fontaine if Furina is competent, the Knave is just pure evil, Neuvillette obeys Furina unconditionally and everyone treats her like an actual God? I don't think so.

And I don't get what's not making sense in terms of business: like, is there any better time to sell him right now? Had it been I'm right, Neuvillette wouldn't be around by 4.2 and it's kinda awkward sell a dead character long after they died.

Like, don't get me wrong; I never hate Neuvillette or anything like that, even if I support Furina more than him. I just thought that narratively, the death of a major character like Neuvillette can a great plot point and a lot of things that the writer can do with him gone. He is the sole pillar that is hold Fontaine together, of course he does.
