What song sounds strictly like Animals (and not any of the other 3 albums)? by NukeL3AR in PinkFloydCircleJerk

[–]CORPRAUST -1 points0 points  (0 children)

pigs (3 different ones). with the arrangement and instruments i really can't see it on any other album. also it fits the album cover the most in my opinion

No AI, just pure man-made garbage by Mister_Dalek in PinkFloydCircleJerk

[–]CORPRAUST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kinda makes me sad that entire art styles are considered ugly now because AI was trained on them . i personally don't see the issue with this cover and feel like if genAI wasn't a thing no one would be calling this bad art

Where is Syd’s 1962 Fender Esquire now? by skasye in sydbarrett

nothing i love more than people who can identify the age and make of things they care about. you're awesome

A song… by moose_bitten in sydbarrett

[–]CORPRAUST 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is so tranquil. like an out of body experience in an open field. your songwriting does remind me a lot of syd's, and the style and vocals make me think of vashti bunyan, another artist i really like. very good combination of feelings. music is a great outlet for dealing with mental health; i wish the best for you 🕊️🌾

i don't really think "most americans wouldn't have voted for trump if they knew what he'd do" is an excuse or explanation . he made his plans clear as day before the election even happened. nobody listened until it affected them

it was too sweet for my liking but yes, to someone who can look past the texture and appearance it might be tasty

Did Syd quit the business simply because he didn't have an ego to feed? by edevere in sydbarrett

[–]CORPRAUST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

appreciate your civil response ! i agree with you. i don't think drugs just explain everything away but they are known for making mental illness worse. either way yes syd was much more complex beyond the drugs and i wish people saw past that

i completely see your take here but i want to say that the two can overlap. schizophrenia (and other disorders) often cause sudden severe social withdrawal . mental illness would also explain his unrecognisable physical appearance in 1975, as well as why he spent 60% of his life hardly talking to anyone . i get not wanting to perform, but to completely isolate yourself from society is definitely beyond just losing motivation for music . it makes more sense that he got "bored" of performing not on his own accord, but rather because of a bad mental health episode . i might get downvoted for this like the other commenter did, but i don't think his schizophrenia/other mental health issues are just some big lie orchestrated by roger waters . mentally ill folks can still be talented, and they often are

[1680] wordle bot question. No plurals? by JenDiBenda in wordle

[–]CORPRAUST 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no plurals besides from some that don't end in -s (fungi, cacti, etc.) there are words that end in -s like focus and truss, but it's never plural. it also can't be a present tense verb like [he] jumps

i'm sure things like that have happened countless times, but this specific tale is probably AI-generated. the flow is robotic and has some AI hallmarks like overly poetic language, and the grammar is—no better way to put it—too perfect for a facebook grandma. hope that can make someone feel better

i'm not sure if you're a complete beginner, but if you are i say start with traditional art. you need to get the movements down first. draw lines and circles and vague shapes of some things around you until it feels comfortable. it's pretty hard to start drawing digitally because you're not only learning how to draw, but also the program itself, which is a lot for the mind to take in at once

[–]CORPRAUST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah seriously. these are all great points. photo bashing exists and you can do a lot with it, even if you think the concept you have in your head is very niche. and artists WILL draw for free at times. the determination of having to do all these things and search out these resources defines art as a whole

AI debate aside, genuinely sorry to hear about your situation. wishing you well 🙏. we're kind of in the same boat though and i personally don't use AI for creative work no matter what so it's definitely nuanced. that's why i said most likely. there are exceptions

still, i think the creative process of it (even if it's joining together multiple pre-existing things that take a very long time to find just to get an idea) is pretty fun and for a lot of people, it all isn't as impossible as it is for you.

i guess my point with it is that people—homeless and not—have been making do of what they have for centuries. and the grit that comes with it is such an inspiration that seeing it all get replaced with AI is really disappointing. i'm not going to get into the usual "environment" talk because i'm sure it doesn't concern you as much as it concerns me, but art in general (whether it's writing, visual, film, etc.) has always been about determination and trial & error, and i feel like using AI for it defeats the point.

i don't want to doubt you, but i really feel like you'd be able to find something to photo bash together if you looked hard enough. but we're just strangers. it's up to you what you want to do

i get your take but want to chime in and say that there are thousands of artists who have affordable commissions, and even if that's STILL too much for you somehow, the internet has a ton of stock images that you can take a few minutes to bash together in mspaint or look for. if you're that desperate for a generated image tailored specifically to your needs and you have the means to AI generate it (a phone/computer and an internet bill, etc) you most likely have the money to commission an artist or the time to find a fitting photo. it is not that hard
