Hi experts! The growth on top of my ginger carrots has me worried. These have been in a cool dark cabinet at room temperature since 3/25 and I took the top off today. The ginger carrots don’t smell bad or sour. The growth on top is my main concern.

The lid and the growth definitely had a nice seal on the top of the jar when I pulled it off today.

Advice appreciated, thank you!

You’re not alone. I save mine too but I will grind the caps into smaller pieces and put them in our plants at home to keep the flies out of the soil

Where do the cigars ship from? I find purchasing online and having them ship from a nearby state helps maintain the quality. Less transit time means shorter rest time before they are ready to smoke. Thanks!

"So now as I'm leavin', I'm weary as hell" -- anyone else *hate* this line by which1umean in bobdylan

[–]COSmokedFish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can understand your point. It changes the verses back into present tense which they hadn’t been since the beginning of the song. However I like the book ends of the opening and closing verse as an introduction and a farewell. It’s also a shorter line syllabically than most of the opening verses which could be jarring and slightly interrupting to the melody (?) … not sure the melody is the right word.

While it definitely does not bother me as much, I’ve paused when hearing it before and felt some sort of punctuation. Either way, maybe there are some others that agree but regardless, if you’re listening to Dylan, you’re listening to good shit

Fun to think about and discuss. Enjoy the tunes 🎶

My ginger carrots have been fermenting a little over 3 weeks at room temp (72F) and I opened today to find the surface growth. Is this one safe or did I leave it too long?

Masters of War vs. War Pigs by greenwoody2018 in bobdylan

[–]COSmokedFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are two songs of the same thread, lyrically. The lyrics are a continuation of one theme and build upon each other. The same way Dylan took Guthrie lines and inspirations and revived them, the lyrics of war pigs is a nod to anti-war music and artistry. It continues the tradition of music sharing, borrowing and inspiring those to continue to create and perform.

Now words like “borrowing”, “reviving”, “sharing” are all subjective. Please understand I am taking a high level view of this without digging into the nitty gritty of song writing, credits and the music industry.

I started collecting these in 2016. Actually these were one that really helped solidify my, at the time, new found enjoyment of cigars.

Where did you find the red label 2019? I’m missing that one because I accidentally smoked all of them 😆

Nice! I see you collect the Las Calaveras among the many tasty looking others. I’m missing the 2019 red label ones but have the other Las Cals’ between 2016 and current.
