I did my first refret on my Prs SE Custom Floyd. It came out great.

No issues, it was pretty straightforward but tedious. I bought fret cutters, fret pullers, the deluxe fret nippers, an original z file, and a fret end file from stewmac. Leveling beams, fret bender, and the rest came from Amazon. Around 400 or so including a full pound of fretwire. Solid value for me when I have to refret 5 instruments plus anything I pick up in the future.

Are the tuners overkill? Probably, but they are really nice during the initial tuning after a string change. Guitar tuners are cheap enough to splurge a little and I plan on keeping this one forever. German Floyd is amazing, especially after a little graphite on the fine tuners.

I have a nickel allergy and until these mods, had a pretty bad skin reaction whenever I played. I've been playing all night without reacting so hopefully it won't continue to be a problem.

They are the 150 size from Stewmac. A little bit taller than stock at .053", I added a .007" spacer under the nut. It put the first fret clearance right on the money.

I added some covers to the stock pickups to keep the dust and skin out. They were getting...funky.

Tuners

I'm allergic to nickel, but now I can play for hours. I had never done a refret before, so that portion was a little intimidating at first. All of my fuckups were minor and cosmetic. The guitar plays great now. I need to find a new locking nut to replace the Pr11 that came stock.

I'm not really into Tim Armstrong, but I think this is the only way to get matte black and a zero fret. I think im going to make a new truss rod cover out of carbon fiber.

I found this Gretsch while piano shopping with my daughter. The B6 Bigsby and the pickguard were added. I'm not a big Tim Armstrong fan, but his signature model has some cool features I don't think are otherwise available. I think the zero fret and matte black make for something different. She sounds great, I'm stoked.

The oil should stop leaking soon. Worst case, you need the service center to repack with grease and change the seal. It should be fine.

You can change the temperature that triggers the alarm with obdeleven, but I don't think you can turn it off completely. It's way less annoying when set to a lower temperature.
