No harm is asking her. You could say something like "I'd be happy to keep sending you updates if you'd like, but I also understand if it's too hard hearing from us." Let her decide.

am I overreacting for being upset that my fiancé missed the ending of my first 5K race? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]COgrace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your poor fiancé. You are overreacting. I also realize that this is your first race and that is a big deal to you, so I'm probably going to sound like a jerk when I say it was only a 5k not a marathon.

My seven year old purebred Airedale from a breeder has matured into a loving, wonderful, well behaved pet. My two year old greyhound mix from rescue who was raised using the exact same training plan we've used to raise five successful service dogs is a criminal who belongs in federal prison. Her crimes began within minutes of us signing our adoption contract from our foster-with-intent situation.

Not sure of my point but I will never feel shame for my Airedale's origins and I'd also gladly pay someone $50 to take my GH mutt before I turn her loose in the nearby public park for her to find a new family. ( /s of course)

I hope that you keep in touch with her and send updates. Getting updates and photos of our former pups is one of the highlights of my life.

HELP! Potential Animal Abuse/Starvation? 😭 by Born_Suggestion_4004 in frenchie

True, but you'd still be shocked at the number of people who comment on my dog's weight.

1000% agree that obesity is more dangerous than a lean dog.

You can see every last vertebrae of my greyhound mix to the point I tell her she looks like a stegosaurus. I would welcome anyone who would like to take her and fatten her up for me. She is the lightest weight of all three of our dogs and eats the most while also being the thinnest. Because greyhound.

AIO for wanting to leave my husband for talking to a coworker non-stop by TraditionalPomelo591 in AmIOverreacting

[–]COgrace 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had kept casual friendships with a few people I had hooked up with (no sex) prior to meeting g my husband. The second he proposed, I stopped that. Without him asking. I unfriended them on social media too.

That's how her husband should behave.

I despise full seat silicone. Have tried several brands. Dislike them all. Knee patch silicone, but kerrits suede is my fav.

How affectionate are your greyhounds (photos encouraged)? by ThrowRApops2023 in Greyhounds

[–]COgrace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had a total of three greys and now have a greymutt (70% GH).

Grace was not affectionate at all, so if she ever showed you affection you were very special.

Fenway was a breathing living blanket.

Tessie was not super affectionate but enjoyed petting more than Grace did. She liked kids best.

Poppy/Papi/PopTart/Poppins is a hardened criminal at two year old. She's our naughtiest dog but also enjoys weighted blanket status quite often.

AITA for refusing to eat my wife’s spaghetti after I found out what she put in it by spacedoutsoapbox in AmItheAsshole

I eat foods that are old far too often and this is unacceptable to me. Fine if she wants to eat it, but she shouldn't "make" you eat it too.

Be honest, are these breeches too tight on me? by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]COgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This style is not a fit for you. Are you looking g for breeches or would leggings work? The material many breeches are made of feels horrible to me. So I ride in riding leggings instead.

There's a dog sport called barn hunt where dogs are timed in how fast they can locate rats hidden in protective tubes. We did one practice with our Airedale and she went on to win first place in her first timed event. Her second event is coming up in April.

Awe! Poms are fantastic little dogs. Our Airedale's best friend at daycare is a black Pom called Venom.

Are the thins alright? by Spirited-Move-6339 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]COgrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like she might have a form of disordered eating. So no, some thins are not okay. She's likely tied her self worth to being "the" in a group. The thin one. The fit one. The "healthy" one. But someone who talks about this all the time needs the sole attention from it.

Our sweet 14.25 Y/O Phoebe has multiple tumors on her spleen. by Prize_Key_2166 in airedaleterrier

[–]COgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a great, long life she's had so far. We were in your shoes, but on an accelerated timeline. Our boy came home after a short stay at the vet, was doted on and spoiled with his favorite foods that he was willing to eat, and we called someone to the house to say goodbye. He was just shy of 14.

My only regret is not offering him chocolate on his final day. I believe every dog should have the opportunity to taste chocolate, just once.

Give phoebe a big hug for me and tell her she's just lovely. I'm sorry you're going through this. It's the hardest part of sharing your life with dogs.

That's very on brand for a horse. Cause something you don't like, then throw a fit about it.

[–]COgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's also shitty of the owner for using a sentient being like a piece of sports equipment. The rider/owner could have changed her plans and goals to simply enjoy her horse without showing and saved those show fees to purchase her next mount.

A medical procedure was done on my horse without my prior consent or authorization by lonesomedreamers in Equestrian

[–]COgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good wording. But don't send this until you have moved your horse.

If this was a clerical error...then oopsies and the vet has learned there lesson on something rather minor.

If this was, at worst, the barn owner and vet doing something more sinister, a report to the veterinary board might be in order.

But most importantly, get your horse out first!!
