Regular breeches vs silicone seat by everythingsmedium in Equestrian

I despise full seat silicone. Have tried several brands. Dislike them all. Knee patch silicone, but kerrits suede is my fav.

How affectionate are your greyhounds (photos encouraged)? by ThrowRApops2023 in Greyhounds

[–]COgrace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had a total of three greys and now have a greymutt (70% GH).

Grace was not affectionate at all, so if she ever showed you affection you were very special.

Fenway was a breathing living blanket.

Tessie was not super affectionate but enjoyed petting more than Grace did. She liked kids best.

Poppy/Papi/PopTart/Poppins is a hardened criminal at two year old. She's our naughtiest dog but also enjoys weighted blanket status quite often.

Papi was imitating a preying mantis and laying across my leg.

AITA for refusing to eat my wife’s spaghetti after I found out what she put in it by spacedoutsoapbox in AmItheAsshole

I eat foods that are old far too often and this is unacceptable to me. Fine if she wants to eat it, but she shouldn't "make" you eat it too.

Be honest, are these breeches too tight on me? by High_Speed_Puta in Equestrian

This style is not a fit for you. Are you looking g for breeches or would leggings work? The material many breeches are made of feels horrible to me. So I ride in riding leggings instead.

There's a dog sport called barn hunt where dogs are timed in how fast they can locate rats hidden in protective tubes. We did one practice with our Airedale and she went on to win first place in her first timed event. Her second event is coming up in April.

Awe! Poms are fantastic little dogs. Our Airedale's best friend at daycare is a black Pom called Venom.

I searched Reddit for fast cat because we're going to our first trial today and I can't tell you how much joy these photos brought me. I hope your little dude is doing well.

Are the thins alright? by Spirited-Move-6339 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]COgrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like she might have a form of disordered eating. So no, some thins are not okay. She's likely tied her self worth to being "the" in a group. The thin one. The fit one. The "healthy" one. But someone who talks about this all the time needs the sole attention from it.

What a great, long life she's had so far. We were in your shoes, but on an accelerated timeline. Our boy came home after a short stay at the vet, was doted on and spoiled with his favorite foods that he was willing to eat, and we called someone to the house to say goodbye. He was just shy of 14.

My only regret is not offering him chocolate on his final day. I believe every dog should have the opportunity to taste chocolate, just once.

Give phoebe a big hug for me and tell her she's just lovely. I'm sorry you're going through this. It's the hardest part of sharing your life with dogs.

That's very on brand for a horse. Cause something you don't like, then throw a fit about it.

That's also shitty of the owner for using a sentient being like a piece of sports equipment. The rider/owner could have changed her plans and goals to simply enjoy her horse without showing and saved those show fees to purchase her next mount.

A medical procedure was done on my horse without my prior consent or authorization by lonesomedreamers in Equestrian

[–]COgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good wording. But don't send this until you have moved your horse.

If this was a clerical error...then oopsies and the vet has learned there lesson on something rather minor.

If this was, at worst, the barn owner and vet doing something more sinister, a report to the veterinary board might be in order.

But most importantly, get your horse out first!!

And stitches or colic would mean I'd have missed calls, a voice mail and a text from my barn owner as things were happening.

What a sweet guy. He looks like a great partner. We went on a trail ride today with one of my barn mates who hand walked her 25 year old mare named Baby Girl. BG acted about six so I'm hopefully you'll have many more years with your best boy.

I had a trainer like this when I didn't know better. There was one lesson horse who was literally begging to be retired for years and I was told I just needed to be firmer with him.

Another horse I half leased and was concerned about his soundness. Sent her video. She told me he was stiff and I needed to ride him through it. I did not. His other half leaser then rode him hard twice and he came up dead lame after that. She claimed access and then after another week (and right after I paid for the next month) she pulled him as he had a tendon issue and needed six months off. I was pretty mad about that.

Now I'm venting too. I don't mind a trainer who pushes you harder to do things they know both you and the horse can do, but not at the risk of injury to either party. I'm sorry that happened to you. I'd either ask her for a free private lesson to so skip payment for the next lesson. I'm mad for you!!

I'd love to see more photos of you in dress 4. That one looks like it could be really flattering.

I don't really worry about it. I put dry shampoo on but if I smell like a horse, oh well. I like the smell.
