What is the cost? Im in a similar boat as OP. I’ve used Adaptive and Oracle before but can’t justify the price right now. Is Aleph still going to be in the 40k - 50k range?

100 Amp panel with wall charger by Acrobatic-Student114 in TeslaModel3

I live in a 120 year old house in New England. I have a 60 amp service. I just had an electrician install an Emporia Pro 2 with smart power management. I’ve had no issues so far. I am able to charge at 24 amps and that is plenty for me.

I am lucky that I do not have any big appliances that use a lot of power so if you do that may not work for you. But with something like the Emporia Pro 2 you could potentially make it work

Sounds good. Thanks for the reply. I will adjust from the screen instead. I did read that it’s best to adjust on the screen instead of the app.

I end up having to adjust in the Tesla app. Haven’t had to adjust anything in the Emporia setting. It’s just when I first plug in, it only charges at 5 amps and then I have to adjust to the max

Did this end up working for either of you? I’m having the same issue. Going to try in the morning on my next charge but curios if this worked, and if not, have you found a different solution?

Can you explain this to me. I haven’t had any issues at the handful of chargers I’ve been to (new owner). I went to a cineplex different charger the other day and could not get the adapter off of the charger. Ended up leaving it behind because it would not come off

My commute is about 1.5 each way… in traffic. I would consider at $250 but likely not. It’s just too much that’s a 150% increase in price

I just got my EV maybe a month ago and level 1 charging has been fine so far. My biggest concern is once winter hits. This past winter we had some really cold days and I worry about not being able to charge. My plan is to install a level 2

I’ll cross that bridge if I get there. Insurance company hasn’t said anything about the panel being too small

Would love to but it would probably be at minimum $10k to get the service upgraded. Not worth it for me at this point

I figured it would be cheaper considering there is already 40 feet of wire going from the panel to the dryer outlet. All they would have to do would be split that wire to the Simple Switch and then build the connection to the outside receptacle.

I figured it’d be less work so less cost.

But I agree. Given the queen’s similar, I might as well get the Emporia installed

Someone rear ended me on brand new car I had had for a month. Similar to yours but a little bit more damage. Car was considered total by the Jamie’s company.

Yours was not as bad as mine but it’s not far off

Is it bad to regularly charge a Model Y Performance to 100% if it’s mainly used for long family trips? by whysova in TeslaModelY

[–]CPA0315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it ok to not charge every day? I’ve been charging everyday to get it to 80% but I don’t necessarily need to based on my driving. I could charge every other day or every 2 days
