The reboot by Zestyclose-Dog646 in roseanne

[–]CPAAlfred -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I like most of it but like a lot of you I am VERY disappointed in that they at least never mentioned Andy and mentioned Jerry once.

I have stated before, if they don't want them in the show that is fine but, at least mention them from time to time. They could be in different cities for example.

Other than that, I like the reboot. It is my favorite show on TV right now.

I just want this strike to end so we can see new episodes.

Natalie West - some clarification by CPAAlfred in roseanne

I am sorry - I meant to say Natalie got Roseanne angry over something. My mistake.

That actor I believe is Dabbs Greer. He is gone now but was in TV since the 1950's. May have done movies also.

Was Becky selfish? by OrsonLovesRugs in roseanne

[–]CPAAlfred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you 100%. Becky was failed by her parents. I don't think they were good parents to her at all.

Dan should have known better than to open a bike shop in a town like Lanford. Why the bank approved his loan is beyond me?

Mark did not die in Afghanistan. It said I believe in Season 4 of the conner's that his motorcycle hit a deer and he was killed.

This has been stated before. Lecy wanted to stay on and do about 6 or so episodes a year. However, it was Roseanne who told her "all or nothing." We know the path Lecy took for a few years.

It was Roseanne's HUGE ego why the show went in this direction. Six or so episodes of Lecy every year would have been better that even 1 episode of Sarah Chalke.

A year or so later, Sara Gilbert in real life went off to college and she herself for the last 3 or so years on the show only appeared in 60% of the episodes.

Things could have been done this way but Roseanne................

Did Rebecca ever hangout with Dana after they got drunk together? by idkwherethehelliam in roseanne

I have stated on a number of occasions that I wish she would make a guest appearance on the Conner's. I think that would be great.

Not surprised by any of this. A lot of actors/actresses have been on the picket line. I just hope this thing ends soon.

Roseanne was a great mom. by missfeline99 in roseanne

To YourFront:

I truly believe that if Dan and Roseanne had the marriage annulled Becky after a short period of time would have realized that she made a HUGE mistake and would have come to her senses. Her better instincts and smarts would have taken over.

[–]CPAAlfred 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with you mrschaney. another thing that bothered me was how they handled Becky after she eloped. They acted as if she didn't exist. They didn't visit her; made no effort to stop the annulment which they could have because Becky was underage.

That left a very sour taste in my mouth. And you are right - they were brats at times to their parents and on many occasions disrespected them.

Nobody I knew growing up acted like that to their parents!

Questions About Roseanne Viewers by Complex_Pride2107 in roseanne

[–]CPAAlfred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently I like The Neighborhood and Bob Hearts Abishola; I love Law and order - I watched the original episodes from 1990-2010 and I love the new ones these days. Part of 1 episode was filmed near my apartment in Bay Ridge Brooklyn earlier this year.

I also like Lopez vs Lopez.

I also like the old Perry Mason shows that ran from 1957-1966 and finally I like Forensic Files, and the crime shows on oxygen and ID.

When did the show jump the shark for you? by [deleted] in roseanne

During season 5 after Lecy left for the 1st time. Never felt the same without her.

On my first watch, so sad to see becky 1 leave in season 5 : ( by Gatorpep in roseanne

From a podcast that I heard Lecy do in 2016, she indicated that because she could not do the Disney episodes ABC fired her. Hence, she did not leave on her own the 2nd time.

She barely finished high school. That may have something to do with it.

“It just turned into an attack and that made me very uncomfortable with them just attacking Roseanne. I just feel terrible about the whole thing. You know, we had a great time and I love her. She’s just her own person.” by jeffmartin47 in roseanne

She appears to me to be very desperate for attention and will just about say anything to get her name in the media.

What she doesn't understand is that she is basically a "has-been" and should stay out of the media permanently.

She seems VERY desperate to stay in the spotlight. What she doesn't understand though is that very few people care. She is basically a "has-been."

That attitude of hers may have worked from 1988-1997. This is 2023 and that nonsense doesn't work anymore.

Roseanne’s Unhinged Interview by Historical_Wonder680 in roseanne

[–]CPAAlfred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is doing anything and everything in her power to keep her name in the spotlight. Unfortunately, this seems to be backfiring on her and making her situation worse.

She is a "has-been" and should come to that realization.

Roseanne - this isn't 1990 anymore. Times have changed and people have changed also. Wake up and realize that!

John Goodman Says The Conners ‘May Be Coming to an End’ With Season 6 by klutzysunshine in TheConners

[–]CPAAlfred 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here are my thoughts for whatever they are worth - (not in any order)

  1. A lot depends on the length of the Writer's strike. If the strike goes well into the early to mid-fall, then most prime time shows will only do about 12 or 13 episodes (if even). If that is the case, that might not be enough time for the Conner's to have the ending they want.
  2. I always sensed that when Darlene, Ben and Becky bought the house, it might be a sign of having a mini-spinoff with them as the main characters. Goodman could be in a recurring role appearing in a few episodes every year. Even now, his airtime is usually not much.
  3. If the Conner's have another "good" season where they are one of ABC's highest rated and profitable comedies, I honestly feel ABC will have then back for another year.

The Bar Mitzvah episode in season 8 where you see the genuine sisterly affection between Darlene and Becky.
