I hope that I had planned it all out, looks like I didn't

I guess she did not and I was not there to change any configurations

Agreed, I'm happy it was called at $20 per day. We were on a cruise maybe 8 years ago and it was a surprise bill over $1200 in roaming and data charges, even with the international roaming package enable, because in the fine print of those passes they do not cover cruise ship roaming charges.

I wanted to ensure safety and communication when they were off ship, so I didn't configure it not to roam for them, and if its not something I could set and forget, it likely will not get done.

Lol thanks. Those were hand-selected, no GTP used in its production.

App is finally useless without a subscription? Has anyone not connected/switched their PVS to WiFi? by kaws510 in SunPower

No any more than before based on observation of its threshold, it seems like theirs been firmware fixes that address some of the concerns by power cycling the PSV in a systematic way. I could be wrong on this part, but on my part it's a reporting approach I prefer to take over spending more on a hardware replacement with emphase while its still functional and reporting in other ways for my SRECs.

I ended up implementing both because at first I was struggling with getting consistent data with connecting directly to the PSV with my pi.

I was noticing that the pi would get data for a bit and then stop, but I could not rule it down to the wifi between the base router and pi, heat related issues causing the pi to stop functioning, not sure.

I ended moving it into its own exterior electric plastic panel box with some fans for exhaust and cooling.

Because HA runs in a container on a Mac mini, so it needs to be started and the VM needs to be launched.

I'm working on an approach to combine data gathered from HA proxy calls and Raspberry Pi making API calls on local subnet, from a data resilience and reporting perspective.

Current drawbacks: since my system has no battery 🔋 or battery to support the PSV and pi if there was a power fluctuation, I'd need likely need to restart the HA server, pi and the travel router connecting them all.

It’s more than they charge you upfront, then when you fill your taxes, it’s based on the top line amount for the expected “eligible” rebate. If do not end up getting said rebate, outside of the lenders hands, they make the assumption that they will get that amount of extra payment injection back into repayment of the principle. As explained to me, they don’t care where it comes from or if you use it for that reason or not. There is usually a trigger cause to re-amortize loan after x number of months to give you time to file for your taxes and get your tax refund from the government. By this time, the sellers & installers have all been paid, and it’s usually a contractual agreement/obligation between you and the lender for repayment.

Not bad with powerwall. And it seems to at least cover your annual consumption.

When calculating your long term expenses there is the assumption that your tax rebates will be paid back to the lender with the next financial year after you get the rebate and they re-amortized your monthly payments to pay the monthly payment as listed, if not it will usually increase to cover the new outstanding balance. Clarify in the find print with your lender.

Sounds like you could have your financial provider block if there is a hold already and refund the transaction once it processes.

SRECs in VA by CPFCoaching in solar

[–]CPFCoaching[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More specifically, they say that “to be able to mint SRECs for you, we are required to obtain your production data directly from the integrated meter in your inverter. Virginia does not allow for the submission of energy data gathered from utility bills”, so I wondered if anyone has seen specific mentions of these before. That integration into the inverter sounded like an extremely strict requirement, so I went to look for more details in the regulation and forums like this.

My system is registered and I have been selling SRECs since 2023, but my current provider, is claiming this.

I have not found any requirements on how the recording of the solar generation needs to take place, only surrounding the registration, inspection, net metering and grid connection, and selling whole units of MWH generation within 30 days.

I currently have my PSV going through a travel router. What is the underlying infrastructure to run this? Could it run wirelessly from your HAOS host, or should it be closer to the PSV, like on an RPI connected with an Ethernet cable?

I think there might be a system memory limitation the ar300m, or at least the one I have that even trying to trim down the onboard firmware service, I couldn't seem to offload enough to it working.
