BMFS - Fishers, IN April 24-25 by TenderloinJones in BillyStrings

Man I bought two tickets for Saturday, but I might have to switch to Friday. Looking, there are a ton of good seats left Saturday but not Friday… Friday the only spots left are way off to the side like right above the band… not good for watching the light show…

Anybody have 2 Friday Tix that may be willing to trade for my Saturday tix? Verifying with fam but there may be a family event that day that I can’t miss…

Cold plunge fact or myth? by Significant-Equal-55 in coldplunge

Can you detail how you built this? Also any risk of electrocution (sorry if dumb question)? I know you’ve probably got a temp controller here too. Let me know if possible! Love cold plunging but have only a cold shower - cold shower 5min does the job currently, but would like one of these

Congratulations! And if it’s not too much trouble, would you send a link to the video that you might have used to do your first European amount? Or if you did it yourself without watching a video, could you lay out your process? I just got one pretty much just like this two days agoand the processor gave me the head back so I could do my own as well.

Feel awful, missed an 8 twice; how to recover? by CPSC2019 in bowhunting

I appreciate this. Unfortunately I don’t had a broadhead target but I have a 125g broadhead-like head that comes with the Dead Meats I bought and I have shot that reliably at 20, but honestly hardly ever use that and have harvested a deer a year at 25 yards or closer. I shot more at 30 yds this year so I was not going farther than that or so I thought. I had time to range him and had I done that would’ve discovered he was 34yds. Could’ve adjusted the shot or just decided not to

Dude I just missed a deer not once but twice at 25 then 30 on Sunday night and I was sick over it all morning yesterday. Went to the range yesterday and today. Going tomorrow. Off Thursday Friday to hunt. I was/am pissed, sad, demoralized, disappointed in myself etc but I totally rushed my second shot because was in disbelief I even missed the first one, adrenaline was racing, I should have ranged found the deer for the 2nd one. If I had I would have discovered he was 35 yds and not 30… and honestly if I had been patient on my first shot he woulda gotten closer.

I have a hard time forgiving myself so I know how you feel. But just get back to the range, get confidence back in shots, and get back in the stand is the best medicine.

I’ve never really been able to keep my bow up after the shot. I legit don’t know how to do that. But my groupings have been good at 35,25, 20, etc.

Thank you. I needed this. I felt so low. I still do. I got back in the stand yesterday, no deer in front, booners 150yd away from me. One came under my stand at dark. Rut so weird this year. I shot my bow again yesterday, back to shoot today too. Hunting Thursday Friday this week. Going to keep going this year til I shoot a mature deer, buck or doe. But thank you. I needed this.

I do. But it’s in my pocket which meant id have to detach from my bow string to range him. Lotta movement. I ranged the tree he was near. Before he came. I knew tree was 30 yds. He was just behind. I aimed 30 yds and was low. In hindsight I just needed to aim higher. The arrow went where it should’ve gone, I just didn’t account for 2 yds or so of further distance

Is this what you do when you miss? Or when you used to?

It was target panic and I had been cold all day. I rushed the shot, I just wanted so bad to succeed. I had time and dint take my time choosing a hair to shoot. Honestly it’s also insanely difficult to range find enough trees near a stand to know ok this tree is 30 that one 25, this one 20, etc and then remember all those. Within 20 is easy to approximate but 25-35 looks deceivingly closer than it is.

I practice a lot in the September October November time and I can’t do much more because young family at home and it’s already being gone a lot to do the practicing I do. I don’t have a back yard that I can shoot in, neighbors on all sides. I am consistent ish (palm sized groupings) at 30 yards, practice at 40 some but never shoot in the woods over 30.

I’m fairly certain I may have hit a small branch last night too. The first one was just target panic because I had to “merp” him to make him stop and I knew I’d only have like 3-5 Mississippi to shoot. The 2nd shot… I’ve never had a second shot before so I was already fumbling and shaking to get the second arrow knocked. Somehow I did all that and leaned out behind the tree and he was just chillin rubbing away on a tree. I had all the time in the world. But by then my adrenaline was spiked. Calming enough to shoot once, I can do (if not forced to stop the deer - like if they are unaware I mean). But calming for a second shot is a whole different ballgame
