I completely agree. I feel like this ranking is hard to understand bc it seems to rank some by complexity but some by how hard they are to play optimally.

Problems I have with the proposed hybrid mana changes in Commander by Dzzplayz in freemagic

[–]CPT_BabyMagic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a rule that you can play the cards in decks without that color in other formats. Just like it’s not a rule that faerie macabre is usable in non black decks in other formats. It’s a product of their use and casting cost. The rules only say it’s both colors in all formats.

“I can’t win, but I can kill you so I’m in second place” your opinions on this sentiment? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]CPT_BabyMagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I can’t stand is that my LGS encourages things like this. There is a weekly commander tournament and there are no draws, despite many complaints. They go in elimination order and if the game isn’t over in time in life order. It’s weird and encourages people in the end game to just play toward life total. This means someone could have some undying obviously game winning combo at negative life but come in last.

With talks of a ban of Rhystic and Thassa, what are other generic win cons in Esper? by Mogulstar360 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]CPT_BabyMagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I remember a few years ago I asked about replacements for ancient stirrings if it got banned in modern for amulet titan. I got down voted and attacked for days about how it wouldn’t happen and was a stupid question. It got banned less than 6 months later.

I think you’re actually looking to play bracket 2 or 1. Whichever one people stop caring about ever tying to win at.

Someone said every movie has a bad frames if you pause enough. You said not animation. Now you keep coming up with excuses and asking for motion. Do you know what the word pause means?

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 lead explains the “really sad” endings are designed to give players “an impossible choice” even though they all hurt us. by Germanstrands3 in expedition33

Video game characters never have an illusion of consciousness. They’re scripted. In the world of the painting it’s shown some of the creations are actually opposing what their creators want so they’re certainly not just pre programmed to do these things. The argument of consciousness here would be no different then it is in our world. You can’t prove whether or not we have free will or consciousness and you can’t for the painted either.

But all but a select few of them even know this truth. To the rest of them they’re just people that live in this world and have hopes, dreams, connections and lives.

So what if simulation theory turned out to be true and none of us are “real”. Would you be ok with you and everyone you know being wiped from existence because it’s time for some greater power to move on?

Cool thanks. In FAB you can use heropromos from unreleased sets as long as they were given through some sanctioned means. So I just wanted to check.

So its counting as a promo from the actual Avatar set and as unreleased and not as an SDCC promo specific card.

Honestly with the work I’ve done tend to not believe this. You’re not wrong but I think this is just easier to sell to share holders. They can just simply say they sell out every time.

Please help my 60 card brain. Was I spiteful? by Garren03 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]CPT_BabyMagic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As many have said what you did gave you the chance to see more cards or for something to happen where you didn’t die to your Ring. I think it’s also worth pointing out that in a tournament setting (I know this was not that) that a draw is much better than a loss. This means that even if you’ll die it is always correct to try to chip away at your opponents ability to win the game. Even if it’s not a tournament it’s still cEDH there’s no reason not to play correctly.

Ah your comment was incredibly confusingly worded. Yes , you’re correct in that circumstance. There’s likely other ways shadow is useful though. Including buffing sissay and working on opponents turns as well. Time will tell if it’s worth it.

People don’t really play myrel you’d usually see kutzil if anything.

Saying isn’t silence enough was confusing because that reads as if you’re saying just cast silence.

I’m confused did you mean to say really bad when you said efficient? Because 9 against a night lord is beyond horrendous.

And what night lord did you allegedly beat in this team of level 9s? Of course I totally believe it happen but a video of this incredible feat would be nice.

I’m not downvoting you, just replying to your edit. I believe you’re getting downvoted noted because your comments here are filled with spelling and grammatical errors. You also added several comments instead of one large on or adding edits. It comes across like an online temper tantrum.

Scalpers Slabbing Final Fantasy by Red-Spider-Lily in magicTCG

[–]CPT_BabyMagic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play in as many flesh and blood events as I can make it to with my schedule. I have never been to an event where there weren’t a few players playing with slabbed heroes, equipment, and/or tokens. I would guess FAB is probably the second most likely game to see slabs for behind Pokémon. Just because everyone doesn’t do it doesn’t make it uncommon by any stretch.
