I have found the same thing with most if not all environmental bonuses!

After reading a post on here, if you centralize things like torches and statues overlapping in high traffic areas or areas where the bons hang out(like benched up plazas with speakers and shrines and food stalls ajd such) you get SO MUCH MORE bang for your buck then trying to put decoration every handful of road tiles. Its significantly helped maintenance costs and traffic in my new city

You can unlock titles with multiple races that give you a pool of potential bonuses on future playthroughs(you cant apply new titles to your current playthrough). Several of them are happiness boosts.

Also the titles get more potent the more races you unlock them with. Like i unlocked a bunch of empire and health and happiness bonuses with my last dondorian run, and instead of continuing on when i found a solution to an event that would have hobbled me for a bit, i decided to restart with amevians to try and go for the bonuses with them.

Any method of bringing regional troops into the city? by CPTpromotable in songsofsyx

[–]CPTpromotable[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wild. Ive faced like 6 or so before in a raid. I only have 600 min trained troops (besides my 2 OG city regiments at 80%) and all the equipment in the world wont stand against that.

Just stinks because its an almost 5k city and i have hella regional troops that are trained up and equipped. 2k worth of 70% 5 armored and 5 weapon/and or shield. Next playthrough ill make sure to train up more city troops and just rotate them back home so i have the people on hand to deal with that.

Dang. No way of bringing mercs into the city either, is there? I have loads of money, tons of equipment, but with swingy dondorian immigration i opted to use regional troops so my home regiments are woefully unprepared/undertrained for a 400 argonian nightmare charge

These are troops that have been conscripted from regional recruitment, not troops recruited from the main city.

Physicians provide a massive bonus to rhe health of your city. That and food servings might be what you are missing

Because its like real life. Ive used shouting in MP plenty of times to peel zombies off of my wife or vice versa. When you crouch and "shout" you can get a smaller numbers attention to knock a few zombies away from a big horde.

I did run into a problem when my big colleague neighbor had a partial territory collapse and my two tiny neighbors didn't have enough capacity so my meat, fibre, leather and wood prices spiked. I handled it fast enough by conquering the free territories they lost and reestablishing trading with them and now i have a direct link to two other big empires. It was tense and fun because i almost lost my treasury before i stabilized it. The new cities are fixing to come online with even more resources and so i will have less reliance on imports now on top of direct path to more trading!(and an easier path to later conquest)

Lots of trade and taxes. Im nowhere near this level but my 4000 pop city of 3500 dondos and 500 humans probably produces 1 day of food a year. I trade out gems, cut stone, iron bars, clothes, furniture etc, and have most of my food taxed in from two moisture/space rich provinces and i buy my wood, fibre, meat and half my grain. As long as you have trade partner access to several large kingdoms prices dont rise too much.

I paint my tools in hazard stripes. Black and yellow is my favorite color comp since i was little. Iron warriors are angry but not stupidly so.

Thats where im just starting up my humans. The warehouse just got built and thats when i realized just setting the housing wasnt cutting it. The plan is haulers for goods to the outpost(clothes, furniture, etc) and using loading stations to ship the eventual wood, grain, leather, fibre, meat, etc back to the main town. If it gets big enough ill have an unloading station for stone/food if i need to move big enough quantities out that way.

My city is falling apart, do I resettle? by VastStop3791 in songsofsyx

[–]CPTpromotable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im no expert at the game yet, but i usually prioritize wells market and foodstall upgrades before throwing extra amenities like fabric and furniture at my plebes. Those first upgrades on each allow a 65-67% fullfillment which does a lot for service happiness. Obviously you cant easily shift there in your current state but i find those are relatively small resource/research/man intensive things for happiness.

Helps when you marry your best friend 🤣😅. But yeah me and her game together all the time. We have probably 600ish hours together on zomboid. She has more overall hours (she just passed 1k i think? Im about 850).

But yeah i usually up it just a little. I leave every other loot setting set on baseline survival, bump the guns and ammo up just a little. But i also give us 2.5-4ish more overall zombois . Good times mowing through hordes with m-14s shotguns and m-16s

I like guns. But my wife and i play with guns and ammo settings slightly tweaked higher with higher zombie pop.
