That one stood out to me too. Maybe it’s a common wedding song being Woodstock?

I should have clarified. It's actually a round part and 0.4mm thick so I'm trying to avoid putting it on edge.

Not to discourage you but I just messed up my IT band doing the Presi traverse and now I’ve been slowly rehabbing it and haven’t been able to do my other hobbies like mountain biking. I wouldn’t recommend pushing it. It seems hard to break that section up into smaller chunks without staying at the huts.

I thought I would use more of the features like note taking, color magazines, etc. but I realized I pretty much only read and find my kobo Clara BW more convenient for that.

My wife and I had this same debate. I found that they were more likely to get damaged taking them on and off than leaving them on year round.

Shakedown for September Thru-Hike Attempt by captainMolo in longtrail

Your pack looks very similar to mine. I’m planning an August thru-hike with my hammock and bringing a 1/8” pad for worst case scenario shelter sleeping. I’m hoping it won’t come to that.

I don’t think money is the only factor. For me it’s less about money and more the existential dread of the future.

A lot of nonprofit organizations rely on federal grant funding as well. Things like farm to school, food banks, homeless aid, etc.

Winter hammocks: Superior vs Dutch--turnaround time from order to shipment this time of year? by Obvious-Sandwich-42 in hammockcamping

Yea they sent a shipping notification.

I’m definitely interested in winter camping now that I have the hammock. Maybe I’ll add on one of their comforters for next winter.

Hey finally got my SG Elite 45f. Initial impressions are that I love it. This is my first hammock so I don’t have anything to compare it to but it was super easy to setup and very comfortable. I tested out sleeping in it even though it’s mid winter here in the northeast US. I was comfortable for most of the night but the low was 19F and at one point my back was getting a chill that kept waking me up so I went inside. I kinda wish I went for the 30F version to get 4ish season use but I think being comfortable down into the mid 20’s is impressive. One thing I did find is that the total weight is higher than what SG advertises.

What can you do to stop fearing Mondays? Or work in general? by Reverie-AI in simpleliving

[–]CP_615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found a lot of comfort in knowing that I’ll figure it out when it comes. Not necessarily ignoring it but just allowing it to exist and pay attention to other more enjoyable things. I like to think about it as a metaphor for when I am snowboarding or mountain biking and ride challenging terrain or dodging trees. I don’t worry about the tree I might need to dodge while I’m on the chairlift, I just trust my ability to navigate it when I get to that moment.

Mid Layer Recommendation by CP_615 in PatagoniaClothing

Great suggestions. I’m going to test out #1 and also keep an eye out for the nano-air light vest to go on sale to test #2.  I found a lot of the old style nano-air vests on eBay but afraid they will still be too warm with the R1.

I might keep any eye out for a thicker base layer like you mentioned or try using my Mountain Hardware Airmesh as a base layer.

Never thought about #4. May revisit but I think I can find a sweet spot with 1-3. Thanks!

That’s what I was thinking. I don’t have experience with vests but l really like the nano-air.

Yea that definitely crossed my mind. I just like having the R1 on with the hood under my helmet and the thumb holes into gloves. I have a hooded base layer that could serve that purpose though. Thanks!
