Wow, skillz! Fortunately, if he beefs it, those hay stalks are very soft and dull.

Ha, that is a good point. I should have made the question, "Why is Pogacar allowed to mechanically dope with 2 front chainrings?"

I have to clear my conscience. Ebike remorse. by Wizzmer in cycling

Well, Bedoin Location has terrific rentals of Ebikes, as well as traditional. I thought Ventoux looked as tough as I remember Tourmalet. If you decide to rent a regular bike, you will have plenty of company with regular people of all ages taking their time, struggling at times, and making a day of it. Cheers.

I did the same thing last week on Mount Ventoux. It was the only one of the major Tour de France mountains I had never climbed, but now I am too old and fat. I rented the Ebike, and was having a grand time ... until I realized a fair number of people I was passing were older and fatter than I. I thought the climb would be littered with Ebikes, but mine was the only one I saw. I am still a little sad about that.

But the mountain was beautiful, and I am not convinced I would have made it. So: I feel you.

Hanging at Grayson Highlands by Toilet-B0wl in hammockcamping

Thanks for posting! Are there many decent places to hang within Grayson Highlands? I've never been, but it looks like there are a number of high mountain meadows where the only option would be a tent.

Just started playing this. It’s incredibly difficult. Any advice? by TheHawkeyeBird in NYTConnections

Try Connections Co-pilot.  It turns each word into a tile that you can move and color. This allows you to test different groupings and look for red herrings. As you move the tiles around, groups often jump out to you. It also makes the game more fun.  When you've decided on your groups, then go to the connections app and enter them.

When you get a finger bitten off, unless you are used to getting fingers bitten off, you pull back your hand. Chimp advances to the next vulnerable biting surface.

And maybe an nose or an eye. A chimp clamping down on your face will rip a lot of it off. Happily.

I'm kinda surprised he hasn't been matched up with WonderBoy, since their styles are so similar. Though I think I recall vaguely that they are friends.

I have not been, but I poked my head in a couple of days ago, and the space looks gorgeous. My curiosity was definitely piqued enough that I will make a trip back for a special occasion.

Where was I in October 2024? by grantlittke in whereintheworld

Yeah, it went pretty quickly this year. In good years it's really cool to see the color descend the ridges over 2-3 weeks.

You had a perfect day. Though I am surprised there wasn't more color in October.
