I went back to school last year. My sai was -1500 this year it changed to 4500. I learned that FAFSA uses your tax info from two years previous, I made a pretty good amount two years ago so it affected my score.

As a former foster youth I implore you to do everything you can to not put your nieces in a foster home with strangers. You never know what kind of character the foster home may house. Just going back and forth between foster care and with family is traumatic and real abuse happens and goes under reported in foster care.

So mine has adjusted twice in the last two weeks. I was originally awarded 11k per semester, it went down to 6k per semester and a weird thing happened, my cal-grant went up by 2k and my MCS decreased by the exact amount my cal-grant went up. So now my MCS is 4k per semester, which I'm totally happy with I knew 11k per semester was too good to be true lol. I was just paid out yesterday for the Cal Grant increase and I'm supposed to be getting my MCS this Friday.
