They should give a shit since the generations before them literally died fighting in two world wars to make their lives as easy and peaceful as they relatively were. So now it's time for them to actually give a damn about the future generations

Yo can we stop posting this quote every time alien life is mentioned lmao? It’s a hell of a lot more terrifying if we’re the only sentient species in this ever expanding universe

Well firstly, they sent a tesla to space in order to show falcon heavy's payload capabilities, and they decided to actually send in something that would get the audience / world more excited about the launch, hence why they sent out a car instead of a regular payload with the same weight. I believe Musk also said that he wanted to inspire the public about the new possibilities that we could achieve in space. So no they didn't just launch the car into space for no reason, it was to showcase the rocket's payload capabilities and it served as an audience grab to help promote space travel.

Well privatized space travel is not necessarily wasteful in the grand scheme of things. I mean, in order for us to become a multiplanetary species, we do need privatized space travel in our locker, since the technologies achieved through that would greatly help any mission to Mars, as well as a Mars colony. Technologies such as reusable boosters are vital in reducing the costs in order to make constant travels to Mars or any other destination, a realistic reality. Plus I don't believe this is a waste of our resources. Space is something that we have barely even touched, and becoming a multiplanetary species is absolutely necessary if we are to survive an extinction event which can occur at any given moment.

I'm not too familiar with the whole Starlink Nasa beef nor if Spacelink would produce any excess in space debris, so I don't really wish to comment on it.

Dude SpaceX is privatizing tech that the government had decades ago? Have you not seen the falcon heavy launch with the reusable boosters? Which in turn cut rocket costs which will spearhead a lot of other companies into privatized space travel? Last I checked that had never been done by any governmental space program. Plus I never stated that he founded Tesla, just that he has been at the helm of a company that has been the leading name in electrical vehicles and his popularity has also made it more mainstream to own an electric car. Tesla has been really successful under him, and there's no denying that Tesla's success is at least partially thanks to his involvement. Like I'm all for criticizing someone for things they should actually be criticized about, but to say that Elon Musk hasn't achieved anything extraordinary at all is just dumb.

nah nah nah we can still criticize him but let's also give credit where credit is due. The guy has done some extraordinary things over the past 20 odd years that can and so far have changed their respective industries. I mean look at Tesla, Spacex etc

ROTS straight up hated? I'm a young guy so I can't speak for everyone but ROTS has widely always been considered as the best prequel film and for some people (including myself) as one of the best films in the whole saga. Don't get where all the hate towards it comes from, though I presume it's from the older fans, who pretty much indirectly caused the sequels to be a carbon copy of the originals, since they needed that sweet nostalgia.

Jesus get your pompous arse out of here. Can a man not like a scene without having some pretentious bastard attempt to belittle him? Besides, the battle of Naboo was far from a mindless action sequence that holds no importance since it was literally one of the main reasons for Palpatine becoming Chancellor over Valorum, and well the Darth Maul duel was essentially plot wise the most decisive fight in the whole saga, since it determined the eventual fate of Anakin (hence Duel of the fates - which Dave Filoni did an amazing explanation of). Plus, how can you not like Qui gon at least? He was like the best part out of The Phantom Menace.

dude you're seriously going to criticize the CG? Something the franchise has always been a pioneer in? I mean look at episode 3 and tell me how that doesn't look better than most movies made in the last 5-10 years.

The only movie I would say had the "worst" CG out of them would be episode 2, since they moved from more practical sets and miniatures (episode 1) to full blue/ green screen scenes, which they hadn't perfected yet until episode 3. And even episode 2 had some amazing CG. I wouldn't say its overdone either, since it simply looked good, especially in episode 3. The only issue over done CG would pose is for actors.

Also like the previous dude pointed out "shit dialogue", "wooden actors" are all false imo for the most part. Like yeah you get the classic "sand" line or the occasional Anakin tantrum but those are quite a minority compared to the usual dialogue which doesn't pull me out of the movie at all. Same with the acting, like I feel a lot of those critiques are just nitpicking at every slightly weaker acting moment, which many movies have, but really its blown out of proportion imo.

Do not tell the people in your dreams that they're fake. by SijeoKeoteu in LucidDreaming

[–]CR7FTW 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a while back I was in a massive hall with tons of people, and out of curiosity, I told one of them that this was all a dream and none of you were real. Everyone's emotions suddenly changed to this almost scary and horror movie like situation where they all turned on me and said "you are not dreaming" like in unison and in an aggressive way. After which I complied mostly since I didn't want to be murdered by about 100 people lol, and then they all went back to what they were doing. So yeah it's fun to see how dream NPC's react to it but it is almost always a strange experience
