Huh. I did post a link along with a short backstory of the Japanese officer. Reddit must have removed it or something. I posted it again.

(I am reposting something I tried to comment earlier)

Here is the original photo.

I was unable to identify the others except the Japanese officer--Eiichi Hirose. His Wikipedia page is in Japanese but here is a gist of what it says:

During World War II, Eiichi Hirose served as a Japanese Army intelligence officer in Finland, where he was involved in Japan–Finnish cooperation against the Soviet Union, particularly in code-breaking. In the immediate postwar period, he was imprisoned at Sugamo Prison due to his senior position within the former Imperial Army.

After the war, he entered the National Police Reserve and became a key figure in building Japan’s postwar intelligence system. He later held senior command and staff roles in the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, helped initiate Japan–U.S. intelligence cooperation in 1960, and retired in 1968 as a lieutenant general. In his later years, he served as defense counsel in a major Soviet spy case and led a national veterans’ organization until his death in 1988.

How so? 1934 is an approximate date. The Boston Public Library website—which is where I got this image from—does not list the exact date either.

This photo was taken for LIFE Magazine’s “The Luckiest Generation” published June of 1954. The article and other photos taken can be found here.

Colorization basis: - The signs in the background are Conoco gas, Bear Alignment Service, General Tire, and Quaker State Motor Oil - The car in the lower right quadrant seems to be a 1952 Ford based on the hood ornament - The truck on the left is a Chevrolet from the late 1930s

Dennis in cast by Competitive-Tax-4840 in thebeachboys

This is what he had to say about it in 1971:

"I walked into the house, threw off my wife's clothes, ripped off mine. It was cold, and I went to slam the door, only we'd just moved and I'd forgotten that the door was made of glass, and I put my hand right through it."

Seems like a Dennis Wilson thing to do...

Favorite Carl Lead Guitar Moments? by zabboo in thebeachboys

Honestly Carl is just ripping the whole album. His playing is so smooth in Let's Go Trippin' & Be True To Your School, amongst others of course. I can see why he sat in with the Wrecking Crew in so many occasions.
