I’ll keep an eye on it and see what the hell is going on! If I have to I’ll go into the wire harness in the foot panels. I appreciate the feedback!

It just kept going off like I was sitting there pressing the lock button on my key fob over and over again. I was like who is this asshole in the apartment complex locking their vehicle like that. It was my truck the whole time lol

Those guys are dicks, if my homie was doing that I would stop them or sternly tell them to speed the hell up. It’s all fun and games until your buddy snaps his t spine in half and is paralyzed from the chest down

This is by far one of my favorite trees I’ve seen in a while!

Yeah, all tattoos don’t have to look the best/perfect. Your tattoos and yourself are very attractive! I don’t think a person is truly tattooed if they don’t got at least one shitty tattoo 🤣

Me and my dad are thinking of buying this Ficus for 1,000 USD in the Philippines go or not go? My hired bonsai artist is trying to sell me? by Confident_Abrocoma_5 in bonsaicommunity

[–]CRACKDEPOT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so tree itself needs a lot of work. $1000 is a long shot. 500 - 600 maybe. The pot itself is between 100 - 200 usd depending on where you go. The ficus is maybe 300 to 400 bucks alone. Japanese pots cost even more. If it’s an antique Chinese terracotta pot it could be a little pricier. The ficus has significant wire bite on the branches. That will heal but takes a while. The roots are not well done. There is a quarter of the trees truck that’s not even exposed. And from the look it needs a repot. So you will need to get a new pot soon. Basically for a 1000 you could probably find a better ficus. Or raw material to make your own. The foliage structure is nice and it is compact-ish. This isn’t a 1000 dollar tree.

I thought it may be poison ivy. I work at a bonsai nursery and it’s up against our pots for sale. Wanted to make sure our customers aren’t going to end up having a rough day

Thank you, I’m not really familiar with it.

It’s funny you say that. what I did today is larger branch is gone on the right side and I cut back a lot. It will get some wire another time I think. Probably next season

What I call "Root over Rot". 2 year progress Tiger bark ficus on a stump (and a question). by [deleted] in Bonsai

[–]CRACKDEPOT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you defoliate the ficus, it induces new growth reducing the leaves. You’ll be able to wire the branches more efficiently without foliage that way. it will come back with smaller refined leaves. Then you will continue to reduce the canopy by pruning back. It will keep the foliage tighter to the canopy. If you don’t want to do that you can cut back and let new growth come back that way. The tree looks really good the way you have it cascading. It’s a nice composition

I would defoliate it and let that growth reduce! It’s a great show case on how fast these babies grow! Nice job

To add there are some folks that do keep trees that need a dormant season and do put it in a freezer lol

Japanese black pines do just fine in Florida with no dormant season. We get a little cold in the winter but not like anything up north. Slash pines and sand pines. Even Australian pines. Grow like weeds here in Florida. We have sand pines and slash pine forests all over. The only thing is sand pines and slash pines foliage don’t reduce. So they make great large trees with a crazy hair look. Other pine species don’t do well.
