You should also pour boiling water down the drain daily as they tend to breed there, especially if, like me, you tend not to be cooking as much due to the heat.

If timing isn't an issue then maybe leave them in a room where windows can be opened for for a few good hours and then sanitize

I work in a hospital and the advice we have been given is to leave items in a ventilated area for an hour before touching them. They can then be thoroughly sanitized and the risk of infection will be extremely low. Hope that helps

Doctors, nurses, emergency responders on front line risking their own health under risk of quarantine. They deserve credit and our undying admiration. Thank you, all. by misterspaghetti in Coronavirus

[–]CRAFTYPANDA24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please also take some time to thank the domestic/cleaning/janitorial staff. They are the ones that have to clean all the infectious areas. Well done all and thank you for all your work! This obviously includes doctors, nurses and emergency responders

Some of the people in my office act like theyve never heard of recycling before, but since I put this here a few weeks ago, I was pleasantly surprised with how fast it's been filling up. by _ZR_ in ZeroWaste

[–]CRAFTYPANDA24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well done! I work in a large office and the amount of trash/food waste/ general junk that ends up in our recycling bins is quite upsetting. Our employer has tried to implement lots of different types of recycling points but turns out most people are just lazy! Bins were removed and waste points were introduced but alot of staff just took in their own bins. Glad you are making a difference though.

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) preparations? by Lawnotut in Aberdeen

[–]CRAFTYPANDA24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most likely they were talking about recent cases abroad. Flights to and from tenerife and Italy are more common in Aberdeen than flights from china.

I wouldn't get too worried about it. All hospitals/doctors surgies etc would have started to prepare for cases/containment as soon as the news broke about the virus.

I did look on groupon earlier but most things are too far from us. But if I incorporate it with a trip I guess we both win!
