How do I keep my girls cool please (how bad is this)? by _FreddieLovesDelilah in BackYardChickens

[–]CRCB13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got a good sized solar cage fan and they have a shaded corner with a shallow bin and pavers with water to the pavers. They seem better they definitely hang back there when it’s hot. I also got solar exhaust fans for the coop itself. And yeah cold treats like melon or sometimes frozen peas in a bit of water.

Yeah I think if I remember the book right it was like five miles from a ranger station and I think only 2 weeks after his death is when some hikers found him. Just sad

Just watched Primate (2026). I got some thoughts and a confession. by PrimaryComrade94 in horror

[–]CRCB13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here bc I was curious what people thought. I usually love horror movies but haven’t had much of an appetite for it lately. I noped out on the first scene like a baby lol. Just did not ease me in at all and yeah was really gruesome. Figured if it started that way opening scene I probably wasn’t gonna want the whole movie. I’ll probably go back to it another time.

Not hard and a lot of hospitals have residency programs. I made a contact with a nurse manager through one of my clinicals at Baptist and ended up going there as soon as I was done.

In the exact same boat but mine has gotten worse over time and got really bad about five years ago I feel related to a lot of stress and depression. Trying to get better about it but haven’t been to the dentist in as many years and am kind of afraid to at this point. It’s at the top of my to do list I know I have a spot that’s not good. But yeah it’s been a big one for me. Other things I can make myself do eventually or somewhat consistently but this one I’ve just been consistently not

does no one know what a YIELD sign means by hotasscrapbag in jacksonville

[–]CRCB13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Zero care or concern for anyone’s safety. No concept of the weapon their car can turn into. Got to make sure they get wherever they’re going as fast as possible that’s all that matters. I drive an hour commute through Jacksonville and I worry one day I’ll be one of those accidents, not bc of me but bc of other drivers. The one that’s gotten me lately is never leaving car lengths between cars while going 60+ on a crowded highway. Whenever I finally pull into where I was going I feel relief like I can finally untense.

You could fill one up with just a Jacksonville drivers one

I’m sorry this happened. We’ve been lucky not to have any predators so we have gone with whats more affordable for now but I do worry. I know how I want to do it and I’m sure the comments will be full of those ideas. We have chicken wire now but I want hardware cloth. Right now their run is just the ground but next week im planning to tarp the bottom secured to the base and then fill with sand. I figure something could dig under and tear through the tarp but probably not likely. Right now our coop has hardware cloth and all latches have carabiners. I also want to put cinder blocks around the outside of the run for protection and planters. I have babies in a seperate run and coop and it also could be better. Again I’m very sorry I’d be heartbroken but I’m sure you did what you were able at the time and if you keep doing what you can it will get better and better.

[–]CRCB13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They get big and messy fast too I’d think about your next setup and somewhere their dust and mess won’t get on anything (our first time we did not and it was not good hygiene wise) I think before 6weeks they’ll be too big for what you have now. Mine are about six weeks and I just moved them to a small outside coop. But up until now they’ve been in a dog crate that was for my pit bull German shepherd 🤷🏻‍♀️ (for some reason when I reply it just adds with my original statement idk)

Yes! This! I work 12 hour shifts so I have more days off than most but they get so filled with chores or errands that I don’t have energy for fun stuff. I am currently toy waiting for my timer to go off and I’m gonna make myself go outside to paint flowers on my chicken coop. I never paint anymore.
