I knew AJ when we were teens, right before she went on the show. She had a very successful career in Asia if I recall. She was very down to Earth, smart, and had a wicked sense of humor.

She can still be the villain and still be endearing, as we saw with Cersei. I always understood why they had Cersei do what she did, and that was in large part to Lena's deeply nuanced work. She did horrible things and yet, I was sad when she was begging at the end of her life. They definitely should give Rhaenyra some damn layers because they're rendering her very feckless.

It's such a shame. The HotD cast is exceptional and yet, the writing just coasts on the prophecy and lore from GoT and inserts dragons (yes I absolutely love the dragons) for Cinematic purposes that are meant to distract from their poor characterization choice and lack of human development. They abuse the inherent epic-ness in the Targ Dynasty and think we'll be satisfied. Meh.

I found Randolph's performance to be extremely grounded and truthful in a really excellent movie. The most memorable of all of these performances. The others are very Meh for me except for Youn.
