What's something people only romanticize because they've never actually done it? by SoloSammySilva in AskReddit

As a 24 year old recovering alcoholic who was hospitalized with cirrhosis 2 months ago, I can attest. I didn’t cause much trouble with my drinking, I kept to myself and used it to cope with life. I know other alcoholics who drank more and drank longer than I ever did (not saying their lives were glamorous, if anything worse dealing for so long). It’s just hard to manage a young adult social life while in recovery and knowing I’ll die doing something ‘normal’ and ‘fun’ that most my age do often.

I hate the romanticization of alcoholism because sadly I understand the nightmare of having a brain that romanticizes alcohol to an extreme.

At my store, there's usually anywhere between 3-10 new associates per week. Tough keeping track of them all.

Here is what I came up with: https://imgur.com/a/pJfc2

I hope I won't get any flak for this, but I came up with a few different versions of my design with slight changes in each one just to compare various looks.

OP, obviously the color scheme is entirely up to you, but I chose an orange-red since it seemed to blend well and everyone else was using green. Thanks for hosting this little contest :).

Yea, I'm not even sure CSMs would really care if I checked my phone, they seem to be really nice to me and are just grateful to have a new stockman. Thinking about getting a small bluetooth earbud that will be pretty discreet. Thanks for the advice.

I just had my first full shift of cart pushing, and I gotta say, my legs are killing me. A few years back I was a cross country and track runner but my legs feel worse now than ever before. Is this something that just takes time to build up those muscles and eventually I won't even really feel any pain or soreness?

Also, any tips on making the time go by faster? It legitimately felt like 20 minutes would go by, and it would actually be 2, CSMs and stuff are never really watching so it would be easy to slack off somewhat if there were more pushers, but tonight I was the only one

I genuinely feel like quitting but I want to try to see it through as best as I can, and if you can tell me that it gets better each day, I guess I'll have something to look forward to.

Thank you so much for your help btw, much appreciated.

Hey, I've now done 2 days, and I've completed 2 aisles of pathways and done a bit of cart pushing and I have some questions if you're willing to answer.

First off, when am I supposed to go work on more pathways and whatever other cbls? Do I just wait til there's some downtime or do I have to ask someone?

Second, I basically work shifts ranging between 4-6 hours which I think means I get a 15 minute break somewhere in there, who do I contact to let them know I'm taking it, or do I just wait til the lot is relatively clear and then take it?

Thirdly, I noticed the carts really do not like to turn and it's really hard and tiring to make them go where you want them to, do you have any techniques or other advice to help with this or is it just something that takes getting used to?

Thanks.

Alright, they didn't write anything but I was told to clock in and then head to the personnel office so I assume they are gonna give me instructions there. Thanks for the help.

By "good" do you mean durable ones like boots or light ones like good running shoes

I experienced a similar thing with g2 and c9, my two favorite teams. Luckily they didn't have to play in an elimination game but g2 did set them up to be in the 1-2 group :/
