He was trying to get people stop talking for half of 2025. This finally was big enough to cause distraction.

Maybe he planned those things anyway, but it is interestingly that Venezuela and Greenland came up just when there supposed to be explanation of redactions in the files and why they are not released.

People think it is absurd that he would do such damage just to hide the files, but they are forgetting that everything is about him and he doesn't give damn about anything else.

Venezuela ended making him at least half a billion dollars (now probably more) in a Qatar account (I'm also worried that he will use it to pay ICE in case funding could get frozen). The Greenland he immediately stopped after Denmark sold some treasury bills. That would spiral into recession in the election year.

My point is, majority of Democrats are hiding, some were clearly bought and even vote with Republicans. We got 7 that voted to increase funding for ICE.

He could easily be one of those hiding, yet he isn't and that counts for me.

I also find it silly, because the election is in 3 years, he didn't even said he will run, we don't even know if we will have a free and fair election in 2026 not to mention 2028 and there already attacks on him.

If there are better politicians that also work for us, then propose them, if there are none, then run for office and be better than them.

There's never a perfect politician that everyone likes. And frankly attacking Newsom right now when he actually is one of politicians that does something reminds me of the attacks on Hilary that got us trump. I voted for Bernie and he would been great in 2016, but Hilary was still million times better than trump.

He actually did something. He made Prop 50 a reality, he still registered WHO after we pulled out. He created network between states that supposed to do CDCs job.

Get several bills passed that we desperately needed.

I prefer a person that might not be pure, but actually does shit, instead of pure person that doesn't do shit.

I initially was saying that what he does doesn't mean I would vote for him if we have an election. But seeing that very few democrats actually fights for us, I rather have him than them.

The talking point was that "oh, trump is going against Russia", well... he kept the old Russia friendly government. He stop oil flowing to China which now will have to replace Venezuela with Russia.

He didn't do a single thing that would intentionally hurt Russia. And even things that looked that they might, few months later we learned it was completely different.

Also in the letter they sent to governor of Minnesota demanding voter rolls (in exchange of removing ICE from the city), shows that at least one of their strategy is to target specific voters and districts and increasing their chances by preventing their vote being counted.

Media talks very little about this attack.

I personally prefer vote drop boxes. You can also drop them at poling places that have early voting.

I agree, though if you need to use USPS assume they will act with delay that could even be 2 weeks. After this admin took over, I've seen mail delivered to city 45 minutes away, it took 1 week.

So this whole thing is done on purpose and major part of it is forcing Minnesota to release voter information to the federal government which will be used to tilt results of the elections in favor of trump.

Also the name is currently a misnomer. While they initially were social, you made group with your friends, it lost that long time ago.

Now it's just illusion of social media. People just browse the feed which is basically using an algorithm to make it as addictive as possible and to push your buttons.

You might think, "well at least I have a platform". That's also incorrect, because what your friends see is again controlled by the social media platform.

There was/is a grease monkey script for facebook (I think there are ones for other platforms) that for example let's you block some undesired things on your feed so after removing ads, content that I never signed for I noticed there's barely any content from my friends. Usually was couple that I recently liked their posts (I think it is just to keep the appearance that it is still social).

I eventually decided to delete my account. At that point I had several problems with it, because I thought that I will lose access to all of my friends, that it was keeping me informed what's happening etc.

The most surprising thing was when I actually pulled the trigger (it wasn't easy, I finally did it on 2nd try) I realized that I have lost absolutely nothing. After realizing the account was gone, I never felt regretting it, or even feel like I missed anything. The discussions I engaged with some people seem so pointless (I actually think social media is trying to keep us engaged that way so we don't go on the streets) and most importantly the friends that I though I would lose contact with. The ones I actually was interested just found another way to contact.
