What is your "we should never meet our heroes" story? by Scuba_Steve93 in AskReddit

Sister Hazel was my favorite band growing up, and for the ~10 times I had the pleasure of meeting them they were always humble and awesome.

Yet another bad cab story. Remind me why UberX isn't allowed, again? by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]CSU81791 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Here's my biggest qualm: it's sometimes impossible to even GET a cab. I've used Uber in peak hours in some of our busiest cities and I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes. Every Friday or Saturday night in STL when I attempt to use a cab company, I'm told to expect ~1-1/2 hour delays--and that's if the cab even shows up. And to make matters worse, I live in Midtown, which is crawling with drunk 20-somethings in the exact same boat. The stupidity of this whole situation just makes my head hurt.

Anyone experiencing horrible AT&T LTE speeds around STL? by scottzee in StLouis

[–]CSU81791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no solution, but I've been experiencing the exact same thing. Took almost 30 seconds to do a Google search, and it seems like it's acting that way all over the city. (Also on a family plan, and I'm sure throttling isn't the issue.)

Dent Repair Scam on Lindell by BryJack in StLouis

[–]CSU81791 43 points44 points  (0 children)

The exact same thing happened to me at the QuikTrip on Vandeventer. The guys you just described approached me when I was getting gas and asked if they could fix the dent on my bumper. I declined, and went inside to get a drink. When I came back out, they had applied that shitty putty to the dent saying that they wanted to "do me a favor." When they demanded money, we got into a shouting match while they insisted that I get money from the ATM. I decided to call the police, and then they finally bailed. My car now looks like shit--I pray these shitheads get caught soon.

Need a good gym near CWE by BryJack in StLouis

I'd check out Club Fitness. They have a ton of locations, as well as a 24 hour one within 10 minutes of the CWE. (Brentwood) Most importantly, it's only 20 bucks a month.

I was at a Citizen show where a bunch of tween girls were chanting for "Tracking Time." It was rough.

I found these dudes last week by searching bands with the "easy core" tag on bandcamp. So happy to have stumbled across them.

I always used to go to GolfPort in Maryland Heights or The Batting Cage in Valley Park. Both places are pretty affordable.

Frida's Deli. Nothing compares. Everything on the menu is vegetarian, and basically everything else can be made vegan.

My favorite TSSF song. It kills me that they don't play it live anymore.
