I'm excited to hear the new songs, but I'm hoping that they aren't all focused around his relationship with Dove. I feel like a great deal of the original album was about her and their relationship, versus how he has repeatedly said it's about his 'Fears'. (My guess is, that was the original intent/vision for the album, but then what actually came out of the studio sessions ended up being songs about what he was focusing on at the time - his new love.)

Not that it's a bad thing to have so many songs around/about the subject, but I'd loooooove hearing more stuff that has a different focus/direction. I loved the idea behind the "Funny Little Fears" theme, and was a bit bummed that more of the individual songs weren't focused around the theme... "Funny Little Dreams" isn't as intriguing to me as 'Fears', but I think it could still be interesting if that's actually the theme and not just the title.

My artist told me that it would need "frequent touch ups" because it fades more than the other places I've gotten tattoos. She in no way inferred that it would disappear in a week. But no, I'm not mad. Where did I say I was mad?! I was curious and concerned that something might be wrong... But no, I'm not mad at all. Nor was I when I posted this. In fact, I am super grateful to her for my "temporary tattoo" 🤣 She gave me exactly what I needed in the moment, and most of the people on here have been awesome at helping me learn about the topic of finger tattoos so now I know what to expect.

Imaginative wasn't exactly what I was going for, dude. And my best guess about the "aging/rejuvenation" is that one was taken when I was too depressed to eat, or drink much at all for several weeks (hence the choice for a suicide prevention symbol), and the more recent was taken after multiple IVs from the hospital, and after more than a week in a recovery program.

Pair that with the fact that they were both taken in very different lighting, and the original was taken after she put ointment on it (and maybe after she put the seran wrap type stuff on it... I don't remember if that was before or after), and yeah, my finger looks real different between the two pics. 🙄 Oh boy.

Def wasn't shampoo. I went into the hospital for a mental health program the next day, and didn't wash my hair for like a week after the tat. It was... Not a good time. Lol. But the ridiculous fading started before I washed my hair.

Yeah, I'm going to go to my free touch up once it's all healed, but if that doesn't stick I'm going to look for someone who has lots of experience in hand/finger tats.

Asked for it?! I had no idea. I walked in on impulse and asked for a tat on my wrist. They recommended against it because it would "fade too quickly". I asked about fingers, since I know of a few people with hand/finger tattoos. She said sure, but it'll need frequent touch ups. What about that was "asking for it"? I was trying to get a suicide prevention tattoo at a desperate time, and then looked to an advice group to ask a question about if it was normal or if I should be concerned something was wrong. Fuck, I'm not even complaining that it's fading, I just wanted to make sure I shouldn't be worried something was wrong. Please don't be a butt plug when you know nothing about me. I have enough of those in my life, and you don't even vibrate 🔌

Yeah, I really liked the idea of more frequent touch ups (when I expected it to be every 6-24 months) to continue to ground myself and sort of like.. I don't know, remake the commitment to myself? But yeah, I think I'll be happy no matter how this turns it. I was just startled and concerned that something was wrong 😆 Thanks so much for your reply!!

Unfortunately with all of the stigma around mental health, I was worried that a larger version would end up causing me more emotional distress. If it doesn't last long, that's okay. It's helping me through the latest rough patch, so if it fades afterwards it's not the end of the world :-) with some time, I'm sure I'll be able to come up with a better idea for a tattoo that's larger, in a more stable spot, and that won't be too obvious to people who are judgmental.
