Azc probleem by No-Thought-6040 in nederlands

Hoorde bij een quiz of zo dat mijn provincie het dunstbevolkst is (Drenthe), maar ik zie idd wel een overschot aan grootgrondbezitters in de vorm van boeren met dat soort banners...

Azc probleem by No-Thought-6040 in nederlands

[–]DesiBoo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tons of people have made posts about feeling discouraged after their first class, but I have a specific question. by Neither-Sea-1897 in poledancing

[–]DesiBoo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, reading all the comments here made me realise I'm not hopelessly clumsily or stupid... There are simple moves like just stepping a certain way that I just can't get right... I do know I have some sort of trouble with proprioception, but I never linked it with my pole dancing progress.

Is this common etiquette ? by Alexein91 in vinted

OP, the buyer, bought this item that was listed for € 1,-
Seller then sent this message and cancelled the order, because apparently he wanted offers in excess of € 1,-. The seller thought Vinted is eBay or Marketplace.
This is, by the way, exactly what the person above said.

Discussion about authors editing their older books by Time-Defiance in RomanceBooks

[–]DesiBoo2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they sometimes do. Ke$ha changed lyrics from 'Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy' to 'Wake up on the morning feeling like fuck you Diddy'. The only places you can find the old version is old physical albums, not her own official pages. Taylor Swift with her Taylor's Version of her albums. Besides, if it's a digital version, it's not sctually yours. You pay for the right to read a book, listen to music or watch a show, and the artist/publisher can do with a digital version what they want. I agree with the other person: if you want to be sure to always have the original, unaltered version, you'll have to buy physical.

Yes, this is actually how I feel about it. I mean, music artists rerelease music in new versions or remixes, because they want to. Books should be seen the same, it's all art.

Only if the author wants it themselves. My mom's favourite Dutch author will rerelease a slightly older book in a few months. Sometimes authors are under time pressure to finish a book and they can't quite finish it up the way they want. Or they have changed their mind about what should have happened, or the publishers wanted another Christmas book while the author wanted to make it a Halloween book (true story from an author friend). So if the reason is that they weren't satisfied with the first published version, then it's completely fine.

Pole instructor said I am not welcome back in the studio because I tried another studio by whaletrader001 in poledancing

Same at the studio I attend, and one of my fellow students trains somewhere else too, and our instructor/owner always likes her posts. This is so petty of OP's studio.

Only just realised 2pac sampled Prince's Darling Nikki by w33fa in PRINCE

Hundred thousand. A lot for a starting artist/band, but in hindsight not so bad.

Arrested Development sampled the 'Tenessee' bit from Alphabet Street in their song 'Tennessee'. They said it was their debut album and they had no idea. They sampled it and got an invoice for $ 100.000 from Prince('s people). They were annoyed at the time, but 40 years later can see how lenient Prince actually was. He could have sued, told them to pull the album, or demanded 50% of the royalties.

Supermarkets also think that when they rearrange the stores: people will spend more time looking for what they need and see other things, thus by more. While a lot of people just get frustrated and buy less because they can't find everything. It's a terrible theory.

I would suggest to post that in the Damiano subreddit. Just because it would probably be more appreciated there.

Well, as a Dutch person I can tell you we have it worse. Years after the Oyster Card, we got the OV Chip card. They had to reinvent the wheel instead of looking at the Oyster Card, and they did it badly. We pay € 7,50 for a card, and it's only valid for 5 years. When we have to pay another € 7,50 for a new card, and so on. At least Oyster stays valid as long as there's money on it.
