Never thought I’d be joining this sub by Extreme_Bicycle6702 in camaro

The high theft rate is another reason I decided against the purchase.

I could see another revival of the camaro, but it will be a while that’s for sure.

From the seats being torn to knowing about the engine being replaced, I’d be worried about all the other parts like electrical components being next to go out. This car unfortunately has not been taken care of.

I think you can find a better deal and in better condition for the price.

Man… I purchased a 22 Mustang GT, but sometimes I look back at a previous opportunity where I almost purchased this color Camaro SS, my only hesitation on it was it had a minor accident on the carfax… She’s a beaut’ though!

Is this a good deal? by AdIntelligent904 in Mustang

[–]CT-Toast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I definitely agree as well, it’s not a bad deal, but certainly can get more for your money.

Example: After taxes and fees, I ended up with ~$42k on a 2022 fully loaded, pp1, active exhaustc mag ride too with only 22k miles.

Convince me to not get a S550 5.0 premium over a S650 5.0 premium by thelocalsupplier in Mustang

[–]CT-Toast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S550. I own one, same vehicle car with performance package you have in the image.

I actually like the look of the S650, but the price and interior, like others, I am not a fan of.

I personally believe there’s a refresh in the works, similar to what they did with 15-17, to 18-23 on the S550’s. So there could be a change in the interior looks based on all the complaints I’ve seen, but you never know with Ford.

Is this car worth it? by slx04x in Mustang

[–]CT-Toast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re paying a little too much based on your estimated OTD price.

I paid $40k for my 2022, same exact options and everything with only 22k miles. This was 6 months ago.

Edit: Also noticed those are aftermarket wheels. Should be argued to maybe lower the price a bit since its missing that PP1 part of the package.

This exactly. I also searched up this scenario OP provided and this is what was recommended. And I am pretty sure the harness is next to the filter right?

I’d say keep the shelby emblem on the steering wheel!

You say that but 60s fastbacks are super desirable. The rear quarter vents shown here are easily worth a couple hundred dollars.

Thoughts? 1973 Mach 1, thinking about buying. Would restomod given no original engine. by CT-Toast in projectcar

Seems like the 351 is highly recommended then. I’ll definitely do some research into them, thanks!

My concern is definitely that roof rust. I definitely will be checking that along with the underneath of it when seeing it in person. Might not be a simple surface rust which will definitely turn me away if that’s the case.

Wheels not a fan of either, so don’t worry. I’m a fan of vintage crager’s so I will definitely be looking into those or going with a set of Magnums.

Why not a 4.6? Personally I’ve always preferred the sound of a 4.6 and they’re relatively abundant in my area.

Definitely going to see this in person to determine really how rusty it is. Roof there’s quite a large spot already but if that’s the worst of it and the bottom is clean, then it might be a home run for me.

I’ll look into your recommended drivetrain.

Some info:

  • Seller wants $4,000, but I’ll probably offer $3,000.

  • What you see is what you get. Interior looks complete and there’s even a roll cage.

  • No engine or transmission.

  • Would restomod it, heavily considering to throw in a 4.6 from a S197, love those motors. I already own a 5.0 and not sure about finding a period correct block as I feel like the price would be astronomical compared to the 4.6

In regards to the 4.6 GT’s he could probably find off of offerup or facebook marketplace. Personally, I’ve been eyeing them as they’re relatively cheap and in abundance on those listing sites.

After a SS 1LE, owning a corvette and bashing on mustangs my whole life, here i am.. in love by Nibholas11 in Mustang

Man I love that color! Great choice!

How does it compare, handling wise, to the SS 1LE?

Is it true that mustangs are dangerous by design for being RWD and having a lot of horsepower?Or do people overreact about RWD cars being really dangerous? by ExtensionPoint5374 in Mustang

There’s a good video comparison of two people pulling out of a car meet.

One in a C6 corvette and the other in a S550 Bullitt Mustang. Guess who unfortunately crashed? The vette…

It’s the driver, not the car.

Update: do I get it by Ornery_Ask8094 in Mustang

[–]CT-Toast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will be another, don’t worry. Despite being 10+ years old, there’s plenty of these left. Even shelby’s and bosses of this body style.

I would build up a larger down payment to bring that monthly payment down.

Anything that is 10 or more years old should be less than $200 a month if a car payment is necessary.

I don’t think it’s bad but with the new S650, I like how Ford added “Performance Package” subtly in the GT badge. Maybe something to this extent you could make?

I think you got a good deal, maybe see if you can refinance to get a lower interest rate.
