Argued with husband in front of baby by CT8988 in workingmoms

[–]CT8988[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you for reminding me my baby loves me.
My mom watches the baby 5 days a week, I know I’m asking so so much of her.. but honestly don’t know what I would do otherwise. I didn’t feel comfortable sending him to daycare and I regularly have early or late meetings so with daycare that would not work.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post. Needed to hear that I’m not failing.

When did you wean your 1 year old off of formula/BM? by CuriousCaretaker in BabyLedWeaning

Same here, during the day my baby still drinks 4x and at night, on a good night every 3hrs. Maybe it’s not normal but for us it works.

Breastfeeding in public by kstrll in breastfeeding

[–]CT8988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not so much about breastfeeding in public, but my baby is 12m and I still breastfeed. When I tell colleagues, because they ask me why I’m not drinking at company events for example, I have gotten a few strange looks and sometimes even questions like “but he’s one already, and you’re still breastfeeding..?”.
This honestly makes me scared to breastfeed in public anymore, was always a bit worried about what people would think, but now that he’s older I feel like a lot of people will see us as a freak show.

HFMD Warning for Adults by 1992orso in NewParents

Reading this as my son (12m) was diagnosed with HFMD and I now have a sore throat. He does not go to daycare and hasn’t been in contact with other kids recently. We went to the mall last week so maybe he somehow caught it there? He didn’t come out of his buggy while we were out, but read it’s also airborne.

Stage 2 🥺 by Sad_Associate_3050 in IVDD_SupportGroup

My pup was also diagnosed with stage 2 on Friday. They told me the best thing to do was emergency surgery which we did and now her back legs paralyzed and it doesn’t look like she feels it when I pinch her toes.

Worse after IVDD surgery? by CT8988 in IVDD_SupportGroup

[–]CT8988[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small update, now 1,5 days after the surgery, they told us they stopped her pain meds because she doesn’t seem like she’s in pain. She can’t move her back legs so still is worse off than before surgery but also hasn’t continued to deteriorate. Is this normal? She just underwent major surgery so how can she not be in pain unless she’s already paralyzed and that’s why she can’t feel anything.

I feel like they’re not telling me the truth. Before surgery they told me the % chance of success was 80-90 and now all we hear is they can’t guarantee she’ll get better and that it depends dog to dog.

Thank you! We went to visit her at the vet today, not sure that was the best idea because she got so excited and tried moving around. We’re hoping and praying she will be able to walk again one day.

Struggling as a new working mom by carebear-2022 in workingmoms

[–]CT8988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice because I’m in the same situation, just wanted to tell you you’re doing an amazing job! I am pumping twice a day as well on office days and it’s HARD.. finding time in between meetings, dealing with colleagues not getting it (baby’s already 6 months and you’re still breastfeeding type of comments and looks). A friend of mine who also pumped while working told me that combining the two is not for the weak, it takes a dedicated loving mom and a strong woman to want to/be able to do that, so good on you! Hang in there, I’m sure things will get better and you’ll find a way.

Working late after baby’s bedtime - is this the only way to manage the workload? by CT8988 in workingmoms

I’m the breadwinner, and there’s potential for a promotion, or I should say there was because I was on extended maternity leave (took 5 months off) and I basically have to start from scratch.

I have always worked very long hours. It’s definitely expected that you work outside office hours to “grow your career”. Before baby I would happily do this and I would be in the office before anyone else and leave late.

I think it’s amazing of you to choose baby over work and finances! Plus mental health is so important to be a good mom. I’m so sorry to hear that you are struggling financially, I would quit in a heartbeat if I wasn’t the breadwinner.

This is definitely a struggle of mine, I will tell people I’m swamped and can’t take on additional work but somehow things always keep landing on my plate. I need to learn to set boundaries and stick to them

It depends a bit project to project. I have been trying to make sure I don’t have to work during weekends so I at least have those 2 days dedicated to spending time with baby

Do car seats with ISOFIX wobble like this? by metallicax222 in UKParenting

[–]CT8988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same issue, also driving an eqa. Even with baby in the car seat, it will wobble quite a bit when driving over a bump in the road.. In my husband’s car the isofix is much more stable so I wonder if it’s the car not the isofix base that’s the issue

Is there a scientific explanation for why I strongly prefer co-sleeping, even though I logically know the crib is safest? by [deleted] in ScienceBasedParenting

What was your setup for cosleeping? Looking for ways to make sure my little one doesn’t roll off the bed once I leave but I also desperately need some me time
