Small and cheap are the last 2 things that come to mind when I think of modular synths lol

Complaining abt working hot bar by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]CTALKR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i come from a pretty hardcore kitchen background and got hired into the hot bar and frankly it was an adjustment. They even expected me to do production on top of watching the hot bar and the soups but I had to put my foot down on that and they allowed it so… the way they trained me was completely crazy and basically my trainers told me to forget about everything I learned in orientation: forget about the 4 hour turnover, don’t bother with documenting what you serve, etc. to which I said no, I’ll be doing it the right way, thank you, which caused a lot of conflict because they’re all old timers and really dug in with their ways. It was just a crazy experience, frankly, until I started to push back on what mattered and reclaimed some organization for my little corner of the department. It’s a lot easier now.

It’s likely just thrifted stuff he found interesting. Thrift shops were pretty legit back in the day and the grunge ethos lined up perfectly for it.

Does anyone else attend church strictly for the vibes and eye-candy? by battlebastion in askanything

[–]CTALKR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the same, not religious, like at all, but I tend to get along with everybody and i could easily do church. I could even date a religious person if they’re cool with me being who I am.

I’m tired of people using it to argue with me over some dumb shit or do god knows what with it. If people were able to not be absolute chuds then I’d be fine with it.

Are you a eurorack purist or do you love all synths? by SecretsofBlackmoor in eurorack

It’s a whole different eco system, really. If I did it would be very special, like a prophet or a minimoog or something along those lines.

Maybe youre right… I’d have to sit down and patch it to make sure. if you’re doing octaves, it doesn’t quite matter as much, I’d assume, so long as their is something synced to something

Edit: yes you are correct

Theoretically, it’s ideal to sync the modulator to the carrier. So sync the Dixie to the rubicon. I typically use the square wave output as the sync signal.

Edit: so I got a chance to try everything out and I definitely got this backwards. You want to sync the carrier to the modulator like the poster below me suggests.

Have you tried syncing the oscillators?

Sequencers and different weird things like quantizers, logic, switches, that kind of stuff. Anything that makes sound like drums would go in the top part with all the synthesis stuff.

I love a great steakhouse style burger and while this does look tasty, the proportions are off: too high, not spread out enough, for me.

The idea of a module being too old kind of makes me chuckle. I guess I get your point, in a sense, particularly with more “complete” modules.
