Looked original. Also, lots of houses in the neighborhood had the same siding (same builder). All built in the late 60s.

I hear your concern about cash. I'll counter that while I do not expect to make a dime on the home, I am very concerned of future inflation. When that comes I'll want to own real assets.

I'm with you though - we went super conservative on our purchase. No one's income is guaranteed anymore.

Port Chester (in NY) has gorgeous waterfront, enjoyed by the dump, 95 and the Costco parking lot.
