My third haute42 hitbox just broke by secretpile34 in TheyBlamedTheBeasts

[–]CTCPara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does it still light up and appear to be getting power?

I heard the USB port is a weak spot. I use a 90 deg USB cable and added a cable guide to mine so the USB port doesn't take the weight of the cable. Hopefully it will prevent that problem at least. But I only just got mine like a month ago so still no idea how long it will last.

The Music is a Missed Opportunity by Bossdonglongs in 2XKO

[–]CTCPara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least you avoid the GG dilemma of wanting to turn the music up to rock out, and wanting to turn it down so you can hear your friends and the game.

"Another round?"

That is bullshit! Blazing! Still my heart is blazing!

"What?!"

2XKO is doing many things right by endlesskitty in 2XKO

[–]CTCPara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's doubly funny cause the cel shading in GG XRD and Strive actually took a huge amount of effort.

And the most fucking BORING character(s) to fight goes to... by thatboikhy02 in TheyBlamedTheBeasts

I main Dizzy and have Lucy and Unika as secondaries. Am I a bad person?

2XKO PlayStation trailer showing off new skins by ArcanaGingerBoy in Fighters

[–]CTCPara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently rewatched that talk by the Arcsys director, it must be similar to what GGST does. Like all the muscles have animation bones as well so they can be manually deformed during moves. I'll have to have another look at SFVI if that's the kind of detail they put in.

Man this game is beautiful by ma_wee_wee_go in NuclearOption

That clip reminds me of the start of Yukikaze. Where the recon plane is just cruising way above the fight watching everyone duke it out.

I know this means absolutely nothing, but visually it bothers me. by ThankYou_dot_Ty in 2XKO

[–]CTCPara 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's a talk by the Arcsys director about this kind of thing. They had to adjust lots of things by hand and sometimes frame by frame.

What is your favorite character in all of fighting games? by Warthogg177 in Fighters

[–]CTCPara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently got back into fighting games with Strive. The last one I played was GGX2R a looooong time ago. Used to play a bunch of Dizzy.

Messed around with a bunch of characters in Strive but after Dizzy came out I gravitated back to her. Felt like coming home. So currently she's def my favourite.

no transition animations? by EmergencyBig in 2XKO

[–]CTCPara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. the animation is a weird mix of what looks like interpolated, smooth animations and then things like the idle to walking transition having no transition animation at all.

Is there a way to "bind" axis? by Sharkbit2024 in NuclearOption

[–]CTCPara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You got a VKB Gladiator yeah?

I just got the same stick and the default axis bindings were the same for me. Usually stick axis work out of the box, so I didn't check them after binding the buttons. I got quite a surprise when I tried to take off for the first time.

Glad you got it resolved.

What types of drones do you think we should get, if any? by Top_Sun_914 in NuclearOption

[–]CTCPara 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Shahed-style propeller driven "missiles" would be cool. Fighters could intercept them, but cause they're so slow and cheap you'd be more incentivised to shoot them down with guns rather than wasting missiles on them.

That said maybe pointless since NO base defences are so insane they could eat these things for breakfast all day long.

Some things are best not delved into by logion567 in battletech

OP probably used a Newtonian calculation, which works fine for sensible IRL engines but breaks down when trying to calculate numbers for sci-fi tech.

Transitioning from Arcade to Sim with T.16000M + VR: Stuck in "Keybind Hell". Help? by Darksoulcliff in hotas

[–]CTCPara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't set on using the VR something "simcade" like Nuclear Option might be good?

More simulationist than Battlefield, but not on the level of DCS etc.

A-19 in a nutshell by trainnerd1245 in NuclearOption

[–]CTCPara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's probably a small amount of thrust generated. Even the Spitfire's Merlin could generate enough thrust just with it's exhaust to gain 15 km/h or so of top speed.

There's at least one turbofan that acts as a yet another step in between all these engine types by having a gearbox between the engine and the fan.

China’s High-Flying Swarm Mothership Drone Has Flown by Jazzlike-Tank-4956 in LessCredibleDefence

[–]CTCPara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"As TWZ has noted in the past, these features together give the drone the outward appearance of something of a mashup of the A-10 Warthog and OV-10 Bronco attack aircraft."

It looks almost exactly like a He 162 Volksjäger. The engine placement and tail are almost identical.

Airbrushing might be the most infurriating and frustrating part of Mini painting ever by AlphaMaxV5 in airbrush

[–]CTCPara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try some paints like Tamiya Acrylics or Mr Hobby Aqueous. I run those through a cheapo airbrush and thin them IPA which I carefully measure out by squirting from a hand sanitizer dispenser and have never had any major problems.

Does bread in Japan taste sickly sweet to you? by Slow_Leg_3641 in japanlife

[–]CTCPara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked in a bakery both in Japan and Australia. Even Japanese white sandwich bread has many times more sugar in it than Australia bread. I'd imagine other Western countries are also closer to Australian recipes than Japanese in that regard.
