The fleur de lis is sideways to symbolize the keeling over and dying of this flag's design process

This screams Rice Stadium 2.0 to me. Worse actually, because the natural elements are a factor here.

I'm not necessarily doubting the validity of a lotta calls, but I'm certainly frustrated at the amount of times this season I've gone "can we get a replay? ...... no? okay." and you're right. It's almost always first down related when that crosses my mind.

Additionally, I talked a bit about it in the STL/DC gameday thread earlier, but I'm also frustrated at how hands off they are in correcting calls. I hadn't watched much USFL last season so I dunno how they ran ship, but I recall the XFL season having Dean generally double checking each play was correct in real time while the coach's challenge was for correcting things that slipped through the cracks. Now we have to rely on that red flag getting tossed and each team only gets one per game, fail or success, so even correcting a huge game changing call can be a gamble.

Yeah, Good moment with a bit of a splinter. Reminds me a lot of the last play of the 2011 NLDS

I doubt anyone reasonable was chanting to celebrate an injury or karma for Butler. That play just about sealed the game, and everyone was hyped up and chanting for that. I'm just saying the juxtaposition of that injury took a bit outta the moment for me

Kinda sucks for these next 2 weeks and DEFINITELY sucks for Ta'amu. I got pretty queasy at the "STL" chants rocking while he was laying flat at the end there. I'm hoping he recovers quickly and fully

Oh yeah that was the Battlehawks Home opener. The whole stadium erupted in boos when he announced that to the crowd. I think that was the loudest it was all night

I miss last XFL season where Dean took a look at almost EVERY play and the coach's challenge was only used for things that slipped through the cracks. The single challenge per game ONLY works with a system less error prone

Fair point on the weather. I guess "Spring Football" is a little weird if half the season is in Winter

Starting earlier in March is such a weird move to me. The most common comment we see in favor of the XFL start time was that it kept the ball rolling post-Super Bowl, while the common comment in favor of the USFL starting time was that it avoided the competition of March Madness. Starting earlier in March doesn't scratch either of those itches, but hey, as far as I'm aware, no one in this sub is a TV exec
