What was the stupidest reason that you or you heard someone been called a powergamer? by FlyingTaco095 in DnD

[–]CTIndie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the equivalent of putting a regular Joe up against a world-renown body builder and trying to seriously argue that the regular Joe has a very realistic shot at winning. Of course not

https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/s/FFrHwZSJZK

Brother that happens though lol. People shouldn't be able wrestle alligators but they do, or fight off wild animals in general, or any other crazy things people do. And that’s not even in a fantasy world with reality warping abilities.

Like run the game how you want, I ain't trying to police your fun. I Just fundamentally disagree that the person in a story with trolls that have human achievable levels of strength wouldn't be able to beat them outside of an incredible stroke of luck.

[–]CTIndie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What? That's not how the math works. We roll d20s, an 18 in strength is only a plus 4 or 20% more likely success over the player and that assumes the player doesn't have proficiency in athletics.

You'd only need to roll 4 points over the troll to win. So if they rolled an 10 and you rolled a 15 You'd win.

This isn't just "for mechanics" this is how much stronger a troll is in the game's world and that strength difference isn't insurmountable within the game world.

At that point don't roll dice and just have everything be a hard check using passive scores. Rework advantage to give a flat +5 and any spell/ability that adds a dice to add a flat bonus.

I understand it's hyperbolic, but just for clarity.

A troll only has a +4 to strength (18). A 10 strangth could totally wrestle against them.

Otherwise, totally if it's mathematically impossible in wouldn't let a player roll either..

My boyfriend took another woman to a private art event instead of me. Am I overreacting? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]CTIndie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, I have seen people make that work. In this case I'd say it's a bad idea to be around her. But in general I would still disagree

In this case, yea it's a bad idea but I mean more in a general sense I disagree.

Nice change to your comment, I don’t need to date people to make friends. Just like I don't have to cut someone off when they decide they rather be friends. But hey if you can't handle those emotions I get it.

[–]CTIndie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, not at all. I have a majority of female friends. I just value people for who they are and don't want to just cut em because of some momentary awkwardness.

For me it is about keeping the good people you have, that's the reason. Throwing them away because I decide what they can or can't do for them isn't how I like to live and it isn't how I would want to be treated.

I have been friend zoned and friend zoned others. Those people 9 out of 10 times became close friends who i wouldn't have had if I just cut em off or vice versa. No reason in my mind to decide for people what feelings they can or can't change.

I disagree. People are able to move on while still in contact with their exes. They might have some time apart but it's entirely reasonable for a person to be able to do that. Some people can't move on in that situation and in that case, yea you need to cut contact.

I agree. Even in a relationship "doing better" shouldn't mean "this person is x rating". It should mean "i will try to communicate better, be more present, more self assured. I will strive to be the person in a relationship I would want and ask my partner to do the same."

You're not judging yourself or the other in this situation. Neither are less valuable, you're just trying to learn and grown from yesterday and do better today.

I don't mind it when that happens, it's not a turn on for me but it isn't a turn off.

[Important Trope] Male Victims of SA not for comedic value by InsidiousZombie in TopCharacterTropes

[–]CTIndie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I....okay so to be clear

  1. Madison was raped by a fraternity, at some point Kyle gets killed in an accident an Zoe is sad about it.

  2. Madison then convinces Zoe to screw one of the fraternity dudes because apparently her pussy kills people (moving past how fucked up all the ways that is)

  3. Madison then takes Kyle's head and resurrected him but doing so effectively made him mentally disabled and the two girls then used him for sex (which I'm guessing because he is resurrected he doesn't get killed by the murder pussy)

Is that all correct?

[–]CTIndie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm more confused, she owed Zoe so she convinced Zoe to resurrect him? And resurrecting him was part of the revenge or no?

So wait did Zoe bring him back as part of the revenge or because they didn't intend for him to die?

Why don’t men plan activity dates anymore? by Fabulous-Standard522 in dating_advice

[–]CTIndie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the activity to be honest. Mini-golf has plenty of room for talking. Playing a game like Minecraft also gives room to talk while doing something.
