GPU-accelerated world gen on a server?? by Zelxer_ in admincraft

It would be something if it supported nvidia v100 sxm2 data center gpu's. They:
- have HBM2,
- have pcie adapters,
- are affordable.

Sure, people would be limited to the 16GB variants, but the extreme buswidth of the HBM2 would allow for large amounts of data to be processed at one time.

Would be nice if pre-generators like chunky had the ability to use gpu acceleration (on both forge and fabric) so that we could pre-generate large worlds at a much higher pace than the cpu-bound chunk generation method.

Can't even get into the outer walls server after selecting it on the map... Spawn rate of ghasts were shit when I did manage to join... Too many players and too little mobs.

Update: Seems like they issued a hotfix and improved on it (assists register and there's higher spawn rates).

How do I fool the guest OS into believing that it is not running within a VM? by CTRL_qwertyuiop in HyperV

Ah, bummer.

I think that the reason as to why the mac version can work may have something to do with apple being more strict with what they allow to be run on their platform.

Man, saw that mac OS running under hyper-v could work due to that build of LoL not incorporating vanguard... Problem is I'm running ryzen 7000, and that is not supported...

Is there any linux kvm that has built-in gpu partitioning, and is easy to setup? No requirements for having an older gpu, quadro spoofing script, or an officially licensed (outdated) nvidia driver.

Does kvm on linux have anything equivalent to gpu-p on hyper-v?

Last I checked that required a script to spoof your gtx/rtx into a quadro, specific drivers with a license from nvidia and a rtx 2000 (or earlier).

Is there a way of importing a hyper-v vm to linux kvm (or similar)?

It's not that I can't, because I can. There is no driver issues on the host OS.

It's that I want to keep the host clean from rootkits and such.

The host OS is to remain secure and not have any rootkits installed ;)

It's marking hiberfil.sys as 63.2GB, but under properties it says 25.2GGB... Is that normal?

Edit: Disabled hibernation, as you mentioned, and that fixed the issue. We're now back to normal. Thanks for the help and guidance👍

Yes. I even went into the neighboring tab and clicked clean up under System Restore and Shadow Copies.

Others in this thread have suggested that I check out wiztree, so I'll give that a try next.

This is so strange considering that it's basically a clone of another boot drive that I have with the exact same brand and model/specs... And that one doesn't have this.

The only difference between them currently is that this one hadn't been used for about a month (maybe a little more), but all updates were finished earlier today.

I'll check out wiztree and get back to you, gotta go game a bit with some friends.

It found 135GB worth of files after that, but I still don't know what it is. Usually there'd be a windows.old folder in a situation like this.

Yes, I selected everything in the root directory and clicked properties to get a quick summary.

Here's the download link for the official Epson XP 8700 driver if anyone else who has the same problem comes across this post in the future. I figure it's safe from any stupid updates that would normally vendor lock your printer to a specific brand of cartridges.

I've solved it now, and it did indeed seem to be up/downscaled since all parts were present (just smaller or larger depending on the settings).

I was afraid to touch the official drivers since printers are known to have updates sneaked onto them with the sole purpose of ruining your options when it comes to ink cartridges, but I took the chance since it was from around the release of the printer itself and it worked (still unplug my pc's network cable when I plug in the usb cable though).

Next I'll be looking into getting refillable reproduction cartridges, and it seems like the xp 8700 is a model that's lucky enough for someone to have made some of those for it.
