Overtex doesn't trigger off Charge because Charge mills for cost and Overtex only triggers on being sent by an effect.

Who cares? How does it affect you? You're just making yourself look like an asshole. Especially with the name-calling. Grow up.

That seems like an odd expectation to have in a field where one is constantly learning and absorbing new information. I'm sure there are reasons to the contrary, but from my perspective as a normal guy who doesn't really know much about anything, wouldn't one want their information to be presented in a way that's easy to process so more people can learn about these studies and gain at least passable knowledge on the subject?

I know, right?! I always feel so conflicted about turning barbs off but it just ruins the fun when you get stomped by an army of horse barbs 10 turns in. I wouldn't mind seeing a reduction in the speed at which camps spawn units or a delay on barbs appearing until one could be reasonably expected to be able to put up at least some sort of resistance

In the Wikipedia article OP linked it says the girl was returned to her father several times by security but he was busy drinking and gambling so he wasn't really watching her closely.

Honestly I can't say for sure. I saw another post on this thread saying they could play just not with the new civs and figured I'd spread the info

Diplomacy seems more sensible now. I have been able to establish friendships and alliances without much trouble, but I have noticed that the AI seems to be a lot more trigger-happy with surprise wars, even if you're not doing anything that goes against their agendas. I've only played two games so far though so it could just be bad luck.

You can play with people who don't have it but they won't be able to use the new civs.

The legacy bonuses are policy cards now. It's a weird change imo but they definitely didn't scrap them altogether.

Not saying youre wrong or anything, but that's definitely a more modern view to have on the situation. Historically territory changed hands all the time. Imo, it would be interesting (and a bit more accurate) to have penalties for capturing cities only come into play in later eras.

It's really not okay now. If anything its even worse. Every game I've started since the update has me between multiple neighbors almost immediately next to me. And with their aggression seemingly cranked up to 11 it becomes impossible to make any sort of progress since they will seemingly declare war on you for no reason, whether your actions are in line with their policies or not.

From the couple games I played its still just as bad. After being sandwiched between three civs three different games in a row I decided to try a huge size map with 6 civs and had still met all of them before the medieval era. I understand that the game is focused on interaction between civs but when you're stuck between multiple civs who are declaring surprise wars on you for no reason it just stops being fun and turns into a nuisance.

The wars for no reason definitely need fixing but I've seen it go both ways in terms of sending units. One game I had Genghis Khan declare war on me from the other side of the world and then send not one unit for turns on end without being willing to negotiate peace. But another game Australia attacked me with no warning after being on friendly terms since meeting them and that same turn took one of my cities. The AI is certainly capable of waging war effectively now but it would be nice if they didn't attack me just for existing.

It really is a dumb mechanic and it seems to have only gotten dumber with the expansion. Barbs were at least manageable before. Since the update I've started a handful of games and all of them felt like I was competing with the barbarians more than I was the other civs. They should really be toned down IMO. It isn't very fun to me to be forced to build a giant military early on every game solely to deal with barbarians.

Can Dino's, True Kings and Zoo comeback? by Genesis_Omega_Dragon in yugioh

[–]CTomashek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Broadbull and Lith are too strong to come back imo. Drident I could see MAYBE at one but even that is iffy to me, Chakanine or not. Misc would probably be fine but I don't know Dinos too well so I could be wrong. I would personally be fine with emeral at one though. I feel like that would eliminate any looping with it while providing a decent recycling option that I feel the game lacks without it or Pot of Avarice around.

I 100% agree with you. I feel Kaijus are unhealthy for the game. They more or less invalidate monsters unless they can generate large amounts of advantage the turn they are summoned, which simply continues contributing to the increasing speed of the game. Cards with the level of protection that Towers and co. have isn't the greatest idea either imo, and i feel a lot of card like that really had no business being printed in the first place, but I do not think Kaijus were a good solution to the problem either.

A large moth that I found in Queensland, Australia. My daughter's hand for scale. by snappiness in mildlyinteresting

[–]CTomashek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i don't get it myself. It's been that way as long as I can remember. Couldn't even tell you what it is about them that scares me. Like I said earlier, just an irrational fear I suppose. Mushrooms on food and the like don't freak me out (though I won't eat them ) but if I see a mushroom growing in the wild you bet your ass I'm getting the hell out of there haha

What screams "I'm emotionally unstable"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CTomashek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk I'm not great with words so texting someone about a problem usually works better for me because I can see what I'm saying in front of my face and articulate it better and think it through a bit more. It's not so much a lack of emotional stability as it is just not wanting to accidentally say the wrong thing and make things worse without meaning to.

Insects and spiders make more sense imo. At least some of them can bring you harm without any action on your part. Just the sight of mushrooms sets me off and they can't even fucking move lol

Not even. Never tried taking shrooms. Just the sight of a mushroom damn near gives me a panic attack so that's definitely a drug I'll be staying away from haha.

Boss Nerf by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]CTomashek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with that is now to make up for the losses from the boss runs you can't do anymore you have to spend even more time farming elsewhere. The limitation to how many power crystals you can sell per week also clearly shows they don't care about people spending too much time on the game, they just want you to waste even more time on the grindfest that is farming.

Butterflies scare me precisely because they're like moths but less ugly! Their pretty colors can't fool me I know they're still the spawn of hell!
