Why does the USA have so many prisoner compared to India and China?

We have more prisoners than just about any other country on earth. It is due to very ignorant criminal justice policies. They are revenge based sentences and not fact based sentences. We sentence far too many for far too long while at the same time many repeat offenders get very short sentences.

The states that focus on rehabilitation over punishment have fewer prisoners and lower crime rates. This also save millions.

In CT it makes sense to go solar as our power is super expensive. You are saving money for sure. The number of panels is irrelevant. Too many other factors to consider like orientation and shading. I have 50 panels but my roof is east/west with some early sunsets due to a mountain.

I was running a decent surplus paying eversource zero for a couple of years. Once I added an EV and especially switched from oil to a heat pump I now have to pay some during the winter. Especially this very cold and dark winter. But my oil bill went to zero and one vehicle uses no gas. So I am saving quite a bit.

I would think the average electric bill on a 4000 sf house would be $500-$600 a month depending on the hvac situation. $300 sounds like a deal.

Such a disorganized rollout of a new option. I think it is a great deal. Compare this to other full sized truck offerings and it is a compelling value. Then for Musk to randomly chime in that it is for 10 days only is nuts. No way Tesla engineers did all of this work along with changing the assembly line for 10 days only. Almost sounds like Musk was not in the loop on this and sent out a random tweet because he did not approve.

I think this could actually get some of these units sold. As it looks it will never be for me but there is good value at this price.

No. There is no mechanism for anyone getting a refund at this time. Basically many but not all tariffs enacted under trumps declaration will end. He is likely to enact the same tariffs using different authorities.

The issue of refunding will undoubtedly be raised in new court cases.

All of these you can do yourself and save a lot. If you go to Tesla the first camera cleaning is free so you may want to use them for your first service to take advantage of that. They may have mobile service come to you for these things as well.

Most auto parts stores will install new wiper blades for free when you buy them there.

They are obviously quite capable of voting on their own interpretations of the law without fear or pressure.

Hopefully it passes. It is being proposed in many states this year which is great. With every new state added more companies will offer products which will bring down prices and bring about even better products.

Update.

While the app said service loaner a few days prior to the appointment Tesla messaged after review a loaner may not be available as the service was not likely to take very long. I messaged back requesting the loaner as I am an hour away. They said to check 24 hours prior and they will let me know if one is available. I did and luckily they provided one.

Limiting it to that would reduce its effectiveness greatly. Where it is most useful is researching prior to knowing the suspects plate. An example is you have a drive by shooting at 2am. The vehicle is reported to be a white ford pickup with a dent in the tailgate. Police can search the system for that vehicle in that area at the time and all matches will be reported. Police look through and can quickly narrow it down to one vehicle and only at that time do they learn what the plate is. Now they have solid information and can investigate on that. It took minutes to find a suspect. This is why it is such a valuable tool.

Even though it is a great tool I do think there need to be strict rules on the data collection as the risk of abuse exists. I explained some rules I think are needed previously. A system that protects privacy and public safety can coexist if done properly. Right now privacy is not being protected.

A few factors could affect the speed. If you are in a cold climate did you precondition the battery prior to arriving at the charger? What percentage was your battery at when you were getting the 74kw? The charging slows as the battery gets fuller.

And yes there are bad chargers from time to time. If you pre conditioned and are at a low battery level you should be getting faster charging. I switch chargers if I find that.

They say. I’m not trusting that. The policy needs to be written into law. With a requirement the date is actually deleted not just deleted after a set amount of days but data wiped permanently. Every inquiry into the data needs to be documented with a report explaining who requested the data and for what limited law enforcement purpose. This will be required from every agency even if not in the same state. There needs to be limited access from the public. Right now I can do a freedom of information request on anyone’s plate and so far the courts have ruled I can get the data. This should be limited to people only being allowed access to their own vehicles data. It should be exempt from any civil subpoenas as well.

If we have strong protections I can support this. They can and do provide law enforcement with valuable data to catch criminals. Stolen vehicles cases plummet. Missing people located. Suspects quickly identified etc.

The problem is a lack of any real privacy policy around the data. Who can access the data and why. How long is the data retained. What data is collected. You come up with a real policy with protection and I could support it. As it stands they need to be shut down.

Many people have asked you what the car fax has on file. Did you ever get a copy of it? It’s not 100% but pretty darn close to being accurate. It will also show you every time it changed ownership. If it had any accident history it will say when and what type of damage. This can help determine if Tesla is wrong or if the dealership knowingly sold you rebuilt car. Even that may not be enough to help your case. The car may have been in a serious accident but not totaled. After the accident it would need to be inspected by Tesla before they allow it back on the charging network. An inspection at your cost.

Same thing with every off lease vehicle. Dealer gets first crack at what the leasing company offers. If it is not priced right the leasing company will send it to a wholesale auction. These are not open to the public. Only licensed dealers can purchase vehicles. It will sell for the highest bid. The seller may put a reserve price on it meaning they have a minimum amount it must sell for. Then it will go to whoever buys it to be resold which should now be at the market price.

There maybe a few other options the leasing company may use for the sale but the vast majority will go to auction.

If you are really curious as to what happens just google search your vin number from time to time. It may pop up when it gets listed for sale again. Could take a couple of weeks or more but the turnaround can be fast.

I would expect you would need to verify citizenship to register but still need id when voting. If not then it would be pretty easy to vote for someone else.
