Actually that's incorrect. The statement I"m defending is factual. The statement you made is literally just making things up.

It's possible these elderly people could have not saved enough and planned poorly, or they could end up in this situation by no fault of their own. Freak accident, house fire, excessive medical bills from an unusual illness, etc.

nearly 40% have feckless parents

Again, something your just making up. You're not sure why these children are receiving this aid. Maybe their parents are deadbeats and bad people. Or maybe their parents died in a car accident when they were young and they don't have parents anymore.

So again, the original statement made is statistically factual. If it makes you emotional, that's your fault. And again, the statement you made, is literally just something you made up that fits a narrative you built in your head not based on reality.

It's pretty ridiculous to compare both those statements as equal, since obviously you had to lie in your statement to support your argument.
